music to my heart ; joe burrow

we got back to the joe's house after having breakfast and we were met with his parents in the kitchen. joe went up to his mom and hugged her from behind as i stood there quietly.

"where were you two?" jim asked while sipping on his coffee.

"he took me to watch the sunrise" i responded while moving to the living room

joe stayed in the kitchen with his parents while i sat on the couch and got on my phone. i noticed a text from my high school friend audrey who ended up going to lsu with joe.

i looked at the text and smiled

and so i moved to instagram and searched up the username. and lost all emotion in my face when i saw the blonde pop up.

joe came in so i turned off my phone and put it on my lap. he sat down next to me and put his arm behind me. i gave him a tight smile.

"what's wrong hope?" he asked clearly concerned for me

"nothing. i think i'm going to head back home. my dad probably wants to talk to me." i kept it short before standing up and going up to his room.

i got to his room and packed up my bag quickly. before i could leave the room robin came in and closed the door behind her. i looked at her and sighed.

"what's wrong sweet heart?" she asked sitting on the bed, next to me

"just insecure. wish i was prettier" i said. it wasn't a total lie but it wasn't the total truth

robin sighed before hugging me. i started crying in her arms softly and she held me close. robin was more of a mom to me than my actual mom. i was extremely comfortable around her.

i sat up after crying for a few minutes and wiped my tears.

"sorry" i apologized

"don't apologize sweetheart. we all get upset with ourselves sometimes. just know that you are gorgeous, and joe thinks so too. one time he went on a ten minute rant about how pretty your eyes were" she told me making me slightly laugh

"he always tells me he loves my eyes. i don't know why" i said

"because he loves every single thing about you hope." he bluntly said. we sat in silence for a few minutes before i spoke up

"i should go home. i need to go talk to my dad"

"another fight?" she asked scared to know the answer

"right infront of joe" i said standing up and putting my bag over my shoulder

"i'm so sorry babe. you go home and relax. i will have joe give you some space for the rest of the day" she said and i thanked her

i walked out of the room with her following. we went down the stairs. i went to the living room to find joe freaking out. he looked up at me and relief washed over his face

"i'm going home. i will call you tonight" i said waving before walking out the front door and to my house
