CHAPTER SIXTY NINE - CHANCE

Matthew POV

As per Cole advice to me. I made a decision to go to her house and want to clear things with her. If I need to tell her that I love her, I will.

So I grabbed a bouquet of roses and went to her house. I just hope that she won't throw me outside after our argument last time.

She's the only girl that can make me go crazy like this. Other girls I would never drink my sorrow nor let myself drown. If I need to go down on my knees I will. I just want her forgiveness and trust. God knows how much I love that girl with every being of my body.

I knocked on her door. I know she's already done her shift today. Afterwards we talked about her working too much and I want her to stay more with our daughter. Thank goodness she listened to me. I told her I will support them whatever they need and want.

But my girl never agreed. She told me that she will shorten her shift but will never ask for support from me.

I can still remember how we argued about it.

"What the fuck? I am her father. Obviously it's my responsibility to take care of both of you!" I said to him,

"Correction! Only Sofia is your responsibility and I am not included. Also I won't ask anything from you. We can go co-parenting but I won't ask for support from you!" She said and I mentally cursed. This girl is so hard headed just like me. Perfectly suited for me.

"No! I won't do that. It's my right and responsibility to both of you!"

"I said I am not included!"

"No! You are! You do need to work anymore. You can stay in the house!"

"I told you no. I will work for a limited time but I won't ask for support from you!" She said and I can't help but to sigh.

"Ahh whatever!" I said as I surrendered. But in my mind I just need to know her bills and I will pay for it discreetly. I will also transfer money secretly on her account.

"What are you doing here?" She asked, pulling me out of her thoughts.

"Can we talk?" I asked her.

She stared at me for a moment and then sighs.

"Get inside!" She said and opened the door widely for me to enter.

"My daddy!" Sofia shouted, then again she jumped into me. And I spread my arms to catch her.

"Daddy why didn't you come this ni see myself back there. She's like my splitting image and I'm just so proud to have a little girl. She not only inherited my looks but also my brain. She can read longer words and difficult words and can spell too. She can even memorize three sentences now.

My mom requested Margaret that she wants to be the one who will present an award to us during recognition at the year of school. Even though it has not yet ended, we all know she will top one of her classes since the teacher said that she's the smartest of all.

You just don't know how proud I am hearing those came from the teacher itself.

"Because I have something important that I attended yesterday and this morning daddy has a meeting!"

"Oh I miss you daddy! " She said as she's eyes beamed with tears.

"I am sorry! Daddy will make up for that!"

"Really?"

"Hmmm.. I'm just going to ask mommy if she wants to go shopping. Do you wanna buy new toys?" I asked and her eyes glitter with excitement.

"Of course! My classmates have this huge collection of Barbies. Can I also have one please?" She said and I nodded immediately.

"Really? But she said it's very expensive?" She asked me with a doubtful look.

"No matter how expensive it is. Daddy will buy it for you!"

"You won't get mad at me? What if you run out of money because I will buy that Barbie!"

"You won't run out of my money baby girl. Actually you can spend it all. Daddy's been working so I can give everything to you! If that's what you want then you will get it!"

"Really?"

"Yes!"

"Stop spoiling her!" Margaret said as she looked at the both of us. "Sof stop asking your dad to buy you expensive toys. You already have one, no need to buy another!" Margaret added.

"But… daddy said it's ok Mommy!"

"Do you have assignments?"

"Yes!" She nodded.

"Why don't you answer them first then Mommy and I will wait for you to finish. How about it?" I said as I cut off their conversation.

"Ok daddy! Mommy, I will answer my assignments now!" She said and went upstairs. Leaving the two of us alone in the living room.

"This is for you!" I said as I extended the flowers.

"Thank you!"

"Can I take a seat?" I said and she nodded.

"About yesterday I want to say sorry for what I said. I know it's very low of me to think that way! But I can't help it!" I said to her,

"But you shouldn't be mad like that. It's not like we have a relationship! If I want to have a relationship with someone, you don't have a say about it!" She said to me and that made my face dark.

"No! If you want to have a relationship then why don't you try on me again? Not those guys who might not love Sofia. Why don't we try to fix everything back. I know I am such a dick head. But I love you. I dropped that to you, showing that you. I know what I did back there is unforgivable and unforgettable but I only ask you one chance. Just give me one chance and I promise you I will not break your heart.!" I said to her heart fully. I am pouring all my emotion into what I said. I just want to let her know how much I want another chance with her.
