"Calm down, Love, and be nice to her."

"I will."

I looked at our house. Sigurado akong nasa loob sila ngayon. I need to take a deep breath and relax. I've already accepted what happened. Wala naman nang magagawa.

I was about to open the door when it was pulled open by someone else. Nagulat pa ako. "Hey, sis."

"Nasa loob pa sila?" Tanong ko kay kuya Eli. He nodded.

"Everyone is calm inside, and I hope you are as well."

"I am calm, kuya." He patted my shoulder and let me in. "Nasa dining table sila."

Before entering our home, I gave a nod. Four pairs of eyes fixed on me as we approached the dining area. I examine their features. My mother, father, and two visitors. A youthful woman and a woman in her fifties.

She approached me right away, which startled me. But what she did next stunned me.

She gave me a hug.

I heard the girl sob, "Lagi kong hinihiling na magkaroon ng kapatid." I'm at a loss on what to do. Nakatingin lang ako kay daddy.

"She's Chlea. Your sister." The girl took a step back from hugging me. She gave an awkward smile.

"Sorry, naexcite lang ako." I didn't reply. Biglang tumahimik kaya nagsalita si daddy.

"And," he says, a little hesitantly. "This is Jenny, her mom."

I approached the elderly lady. Even at her age, she is beautiful. Tumayo yung nanay ni Chlea. I held up my hand,

"Nikki–"

Hinawakan ko ang kamay niya at nagmano. I'm sure she's taken aback by what I did.

"It's nice meeting you, ma'am," I said, looking into her eyes before moving my sight to Chlea, who was standing nearby. "Same to you, Chlea."

"Miss Nikki–"

"Just call me Nikki or what you want to call me." I gulped the lump inside my throat. "Welcome to the family, Chlea."

She started walking towards me and embraced me once more. Narinig ko ang pag iyak niya.

"Salamat, ate. Salamat sa pagtanggap mo at ni kuya Elijah sa akin." I tapped her shoulders. "Natatakot ako na makita ka dahil baka hindi mo ako matanggap. Baka magalit ka." Muli siyang humiwalay sa akin at tiningnan ako.

"Hindi ako galit sa'yo. Nasasaktan lang ako sa sitwasyon natin." She didn't want to be born as a result of a mistake.

"Salamat, ate." My gaze landed on my brother who's smiling at me. He even raised his thumbs.

'You did great, Charls.' he mouthed. I flashed a genuine smile.

I felt as though something had been removed away from my heart. Parang gumaan ang pakiramdam ko. All of the burden on my heart appears to have vanished..

Because of the events that took place in our lives, I discovered that sometimes forgiving is like releasing myself from the agony. Because the harder I pushed, the deeper my wounds grew.

"She seemed to be comfortable with Mia," Michael, my cousin, observed. Nag abot siya ng isang beer.
