cain and i sat in the car together

i didn't want to be around anybody else but him right now

"i want them dead cain" i mumbled, frowning at my hands in my lap

"your parents?!" he yelled, looking over at me

"no yours" i laughed, finding his concern cute

he nodded his head

"understandable"

"tell me more about your parents" i said, placing my hand on top of his

he pressed his tongue against his cheek

"they aren't anyone you want to get to know. They didn't even want me" he said, mumbling the last part

my heart broke for cain

he's never had a shoulder to cry on

never had anybody to talk to

he always had to fend for himself

even as a small child

until now

"i'm sorry" i said, rubbing my thumb on the back of his hand

we sat in the car for a good 20 minutes, enjoying the silence

time to ruin it

"i'm pregnant" i said breaking the peaceful silence

cain turned towards me, a terrified look on his face

but then his face relaxed

"what a lie, my pull out game is outstanding" he chuckled, tapping on his thigh

he always ruins the fun for me

"can what if i really was pregnant and you said that?" i said

if i could i would have just punched his ascending ego

"that can be arranged." he took a sip from his water

i raised an eyebrow at him

"i'll take you to the nearest sperm donor clinic-"

i playfully hit him on his arm

and the car filled with laughter

"let's go home, i need a nap" i said, rubbing my eyes

and the dried tears away

he let out a sigh, turning on the ignition

and pulling out the parking lot

i woke up from my nap, looking over at my alarm clock

'1:32 pm'

i sighed, getting out of bed

i followed the food aroma, that lingered into my room from downstairs

everyone was in the living room, talking and playing games

while cain and my brothers were in the kitchen

music is playing

and cain is holding one of my toddler cousins

livvi, my 3 year old cousin, was asleep in his arms

he turned to see me, staring at him

i walked over to him, rubbing my arm

trying to push down embarrassment

"hi" i said awkwardly, waving to him like we are school crushes

he raised an eyebrow at me

"are you okay?" he asked, bending down close to my ear

so i could hear over the music

"i'm great" i laughed, looking at what is cooking and back at him

"she isn't good" torrian said, laughing

and the rest of them of course

joined the laughter

and cain chuckled a bit

i wish i could just stab him

"i feel weird saying this, but it needs to get off my chest." Lorenzo said, cracking his knuckles

"we saw y'all naked in the car" he said, immediately taking a sip from his beer

me and cain looked at each other and back at them

he scratched the back of his neck about to say something

when livvi woke up in his arms

"you had a good nap?" he said, taking this moment to walk away from the situation

and i followed close behind

cain walked into a guest room and placed livvi on the bed, searching for her bag

"what? you're gonna change her diaper?" i scoffed

"no"

i knew it

"you are" he said, handing me the baby bag

excuse me, what?

"no sir"

"keep the kinky shit in the bedroom" he whispered, like the baby can understand us

"shouldn't she be potty training?" i asked

"ask the mom, not me" he said, throwing his hands up and walking out of the room

i sighed, looking at the toddler kicking around on the bed

"damn it"
