Riley

I don't know how I got talked into this but here we are, walking into Beth's house just like we used to at our parties back home. The only difference is I know for a fact, these are going to be a bit of shock to our systems
"Let's gooooo" Michelle sung as she pulled both Daniel and I outside where the music was blasting in the back garden
"this is so sweet" Daniel tried yelling over the music
I won't lie, it's nice being here with them. It's like our good old days again

We continued to dance until I noticed Kyle and his friends walking at the same time James and his idiots joined everyone outside. My gaze jumped between both of them before turning back to Michelle and Daniel
"Go sort out Kyle. Something tells me James can wait" Daniel offered making us look at James liplocking with Beth again. I rolled my eyes before nodding
This was not going to be an easy conversation..
"Riley! What are you doing here?" Kyle asked going to kiss me but I was quick to turn my head so his lips landed on my cheek instead
"I think we need to talk" I said before realising all of his friends were listening in, He sighed nodding taking my hand and guiding my over to a quiet part of the garden were we took a seat on a deck chair

"Look Kyle, your a nice guy" I started and he sighed looking at me
"Your breaking this off aren't you" He asked and I nodded
"I'm not even sure what I'm breaking off if I'm honest with you. We were both so hot and cold all the time" I said
"Yeah, it was pretty um hard to keep a track off" he said chuckling
"I'm sure who ever the next girl is. She'll be one lucky lady" I said smiling at him, He smiled back taking one of my hands in his
"don't be a stranger Riley" He said and I nodded
That went better then I thought. Like too good if that makes sense

I was about to head back to Michelle and Daniel. In fact I was only a couple of feet away when someone grabbed my hand pulling me back the way I had just come from
"What the" I said before noticing who it was
"James, go back to your girlfriend" i said ripping my hand out of his grip. He stopped in his tracks before looking at me
"What have I told you" he smirked
"That you don't do girlfriends" I said in his tone of voice making him only smirk more
"well guess what James. I don't do guys who don't do girlfriends so this little game of yours?" I said making him look a bit taken back
"Over" I replied before leaving him back in the corridor

Finally I made my way back to Michelle and Daniel who were extremely happy to see me, this is where I belonged, this was my place, my purpose. My home.

"Can you believe that it's been almost 2 months since you were a walking distance" Michelle reminisced, I gave her my usual look with a playful pout
"And now, you come to visit only to fix my boy problems" I laughed pulling her into a hug that Daniel was soon to join
I smiled at the two of them as we continued dancing, I looked over at the gate of the garden to see Kyle dancing with a new girl
Part of me wanted to feel hurt but another part of me knew that it was never going to work so I did the right thing by letting him go
Then I look behind me to see James looking at my every move. Completely ignoring the girl next to him to the point I would be surprised if she just left him to his own problems"
The two boys who's attention I've caught since moving here and polar opposites but I know that neither of them would have worked
Maybe I was good to cut my loses so early on both of them
I didn't want Kyle, not because of who he was but merely down to not feeling the same
And I didn't want James because of his stupid games, his stupid rules
Maybe my third time will be the right time?
