Imperial Krieghunds.

Krieghunds are mechanical, heavily armored fighting machines that were made to resemble the appearance of a dog.
These machines are among the most feared and deadliest creations ever made by the Kovenant Empire and their effectiveness on the battlefield speaks to the engineering skill of the men and women working on the project.

Krieghunds originated from a project commissioned by the Wehrmacht to create new combat-capable machines for all branches of the military. The Wehrmacht wanted a machine, something that is fast, agile, highly intelligent so that it can understand orders given verbally. As well as being able to engage both enemy Infantry and even medium tanks.

Other specifications were submitted later on including a requirement to be completely immune to small arms fire from Infantry. As well as to be able to hold its own against the fire of anti-tank weapons such as rocket or missile launchers for a limited amount of time.

The result was the Krieghund.

...

The Krieghund (Pictures seen at the beginning of this chapter.) are fully mechanical, Autonomous, fighting machines that are highly effective against enemy infantry and armored vehicles.

However unlike most machines, are not your traditional robots with AI, rather, they are long-dead Dogs that have been given a 2nd chance at living.

The Imperial issue Krieghunds are made from the finest steel available to the military, mostly, they are made of titanium alloys alongside reinforced steel and Ceramite plating to act as the armored shell of the machine, with highly advanced rotary systems to function in their arms and legs so that they may move, unrestricted and without any flaws.
Krieghunds are not powered by traditional means, they have the brain of an actual dog within a tank located at the head and the soul of an actual dog was bound to the machine, using the potent power of Psychics to give the Dogs a new body, the souls of the dogs were given a new form.

This meant that Krieghunds act and behave like normal Dogs only, they no longer have any requirement to eat or drink. Though Krieghunds will still eat meat and drink out of instinct.

The Krieghunds are highly mobile, able to run, jump and climb the most difficult of terrain. They can climb mountains, cross muddy terrain, and use their Animal-like instincts and reflexes to help them move around with ease... These traits work well with the high endurance of their bodies, as the Krieghunds can run and run without ever getting tired. Allowing them to be a terrifying force as they are also next to immune to conventional arms.

The Heavy Ceramite armor plates that protect the Krieghund are also capable of tanking most forms of damage.
However, there is a notable weak point over to the side belly of the armored beast, which armor-piercing rounds or rockets can target and damage. Though it would be very difficult to hit realistically.

Additionally, the Krieghunds are highly intelligent... As intelligent as any Dog can be. But they can understand and comprehend complex commands via a series of modules that were connected to the brains of the Dogs.

However, the Krieghund did not meet the last specification requirements of the Wehrmacht, in which, they must be resistant to enemy rockets or missiles as well. This requirement was not met.

...

Weapons.

The Krieghunds are also very well armed and equipped to act as front-line capable units in their own right.
