As with all armies, Artillery still plays an important role in any military operation and that was never more true than in the modern day Kovenant Empire. Artillery will, and always be an important and ever so useful part of any kind of army regardless of the era and the circumstances surrounding said conflict. Everything from leveling enemy fortifications to providing general support and indirect fire support for Infahtry Regiments and Panzers, covering retreats, saturating am area with high velocity Artillery shells, every conceivable role that Artillery can provide should not be underestimated.
As even the lightest of field Howitzers can make a difference or at the very least even out the odds at bit on their side of the spectrum.

And this was never more true than in the Kovenant Imperial military.

The Kovenant Empire was famous for its Panzer Divisions and its Panzers in general, as well as being infamous for the high quality of its soldiers and strategies to maximise the usage of said assets.

However the Kovenant was also feared for its Light and Heavy Artillery batteries, as the Kovenant has proven time and time again that this assets can indeed be deadly and effective regardless of the circumstances. Either againts enemy targets or fortifications.
The firepower and deadly accuracy and solid reliability of this Artillery pieces should not be underestimated as they inspired shock, Awe and terror in the hearts of their enemies.

Kovenant Light Artillery is an organic part of Kovenant Infantry Regiments.

In line with the Kovenant's combined arms warfare doctrine, all Kovenant Imperial Infantry Regiments must have a Light Battery command as an organic part of its structure and operations.
Typically this also meant that the Infantry understood what their Light Artillery can and cannot do and as such was able to effectively work togheter with their alloted Light Artillery.

Organisation.

Typically, within a Kovenant Infantry Regiment would be organised on the Regimental and Company level of any given Regiment.

This would take the form of what the Kovenant refers to as "Main Battery Command [Light] '"

Main Battery command is a catch-all term used to describe a formation of Artillery, AA, and even rocket Artillery and usually had bracketed words to denote what exactly they were made out of
Some examples would be:
"Main Infahtry Regiment Battery Command [Light]"
"Main Panzer Regiment Battery Command [Self propelled]"
"Main Infantry Regiment Battery Command [Nebelwerfer]"

In the case of Infantry Regiments, the Main Battery Command would be part of the Regimental HQ itself for better coordination and direction, as well as supply and logistics for the Light Artillery Batteries within each Regiment.

From there, the Light Artillery would be divided according to the 5 Companies within the Regiment. Typically this 5 Batteries would be called:
"Battery Command."
This meant that each individual Company all had light Artillery support for various purposes. And this were typically marked in alphabetical order, such as
"Battery command A - E"

For example:
Battery command A is part of thr 1st Company, while Battery B is part of the 2nd Company and so on.

Each Battery command would consist of 500 Light Artillery pieces, which can than be further divided into formations known as "Grand Batteries"
This Grand Batteries would have 100 Light Artillery Howitzers present.

And the smallest divider was the Individual
"Gun batteries"
With each Gun Battery have 10 Guns each.

Because of the fact that they were organic to Infantry Regiments, this Light Artillery batteries were meant to support the Infantry with indirect fire during an assault or on the defence, or even just to provide Artillery support in general in any given operation.
