When do you stop giving someone your all? When do you stop parading the best parts of you and giving it to the wrong people? When do you realise that there's got to be someone better out there for you? When do you stop thinking that they are just around the corner, that you will bump into them at the supermarket buying cheese. That you'll see them at the gym. That they'll reach for the sugar at the coffee shop at the same time you do. When do you learn to turn off the bullshit? When do you learn to turn off your humanity and never turn it back on?
I fall for this shit time and time again and you think by now I would have learned. When do you learn that you'll better off by yourself? The only person who doesn't hurt you is yourself. Your not asking to be someone's first choice but to merely be on their list of priorities. To not fall 5th next to picking up dog food. To not fall fourth by picking someone up at the airport. To not fall 10th next to emptying the fucking cat litter. Perhaps all she wanted was to not be your last choice.
