Carlos saw Tk's face when he was told that he had to go they didn't get to talk much and that pained him but they it hit him by becoming a detective he couldn't make his own schedule to be home with the girls and Tk

He couldn't sync shifts with Tk he wouldn't see Tk's on calls they wouldn't have the same days off he couldn't take the girls to their games it wasn't what he wanted maybe it would be when the girls grew older but not right now that's not the father or husband he wanted to be

Carlos walked into the station showing the surveillance video to Athena "you did it cowboy you passed the test .." Athena said as everyone cheered "what ?" "That was just practice I knew you were gonna figure it out and you did it fast to your officially a detective." Athena said patting her back "Athena could I talk to you ?" Carlos said pointing to her office

The two went to the office " what's wrong cowboy ?" Athena asked " I'm gonna stay a cop my family is what's most important and being a detective just doesn't work for my family I wouldn't be able to be there for them and that's just not okay .." Carlos said taking a deep breath Athena clapped her hands "your kids are lucky to have you as a father .." Athena said " I enjoyed working with you Reyes you did good ." Athena said hugging Carlos " hey you called me Reyes ." Carlos laughed "don't push it ." She laughed
