Chapter 23: Leaks and Cracks

Martes ng hapon sa clinic ni Bianca mag isang nagpunta si Jay para kunin glasses niya. “Its ready, wait lang ha” sabi ng dalaga kaya nag antay yung binata sa waiting area. Ilang minuto lumipas lumabas si Bianca dala na yung salamin.

“Lika dito, try natin” sabi ng dalaga kaya lumapit si Jay. “Sorry pala wala si Leilani kasi may sakit siya” sabi ni Jay. “Oo nga daw e, she texted me. Are you going to visit her?” tanong ni Bianca. “I was planning too after this because I wanted her to be the first one to see me with these glasses” sabi ng binata.

“O yan, how is it?” tanong ng doktora kaya si Jay napangiti. “Feels nice, I can see clearly” sabi ni Jay. “Lets do some tests to be sure para if ever may mali mapalitan ko agad” sabi ni Bianca.

Limang minuto lumipas nailang si Jay pagkat hindi na niya kailangan ayusin pa salamin niya. “Hindi na siya nagslide off” sabi niya. “E pano tong glasses mong ito its already bent and diyos ko parang nanggaling ka sa gera, napano ba ito?” tanong ni Bianca.

Tinignan ni Jay lumang salamin niya sabay ngumiti. “Alam mo with those glasses, first time ko nakita ngiti ni Leilani. Para akong engot ano? Never ko gustong ipaayos o never kong gusto palitan dahil lang doon sa rason na yon” sabi ni Jay.

“Awww…so what made you say yes?” tanong ni Bianca. “She gave these to me, the frame pinabili niya sa kaibigan niya sa States. She is very thoughtful even if we just met recently” sabi ni Jay. “Ganon talaga pinsan ko, pero Jay…sana alagaan mo siya” sabi ni Bianca.

“Hindi dapat ako pinagsasabihan mo niyan. Kahit kaibigan niya lang ako hindi mo narin kailangan sabihin sa akin yan” sagot ng binata kaya napangiti si Bianca. “Jay my cousin is very fragile…there is something you should know” sabi ng dalaga.

“If it is about Harry, you don’t have to tell me about him. I know, I have the highest respect for whatever they have. Of course I do have a lot of questions but as her friend…which I am already having a hard time being one…as long as she needs me I am here for her, even when she does not need me, I will still be here for her” sabi ni Jay.

“Jay, between us only, do you like my cousin?” tanong ni Bianca. Tinitigan ni Jay yung dalaga ng matagal kaya si Bianca napaatras at napangiti talaga. “Please do not tell her, I do not want to complicate things between her and Harry” sabi ng binata.

“I wont, pero Jay, I like you better than that Harry” sabi ni Bianca. “Pwede magtanong?” sabi ng binata. “Sure” sagot ng dalaga. “Hindi na pala, wala ako karapatan makialam sa kanila” sabi ng binata. “Bakit hindi sila magkasama?” tanong ni Bianca pero hindi kumibo si Jay.

“May trabaho na si Harry. He is three years older” sabi ni Bianca. “Thank you pala sa glasses ha. Nahihiya ako, sana pagbayarin mo nalang ako” sabi ni Jay. “Wala, you are welcome” sabi ni Bianca. “How about we take you out to dinner or lunch?” tanong ni Jay.

“Ganito nalang Jay, take care of my cousin” sabi ni Bianca. “Bakit ba ng kulit mo? Ask me for something else because that comes naturally when I am with her. When I tell you nothing bad will ever happen to her you can trust me. Nothing bad will ever happen to her as long as she is with me, nothing” sabi ni Jay sa seryosong boses at titig kaya medyo napaatras si Bianca.
