"Alright, well we can't leave you alone now, can we?"

"No sir." I say because it felt right. "I'll talk to the principal about letting you attend the school for a bit until we can figure out what to do with you." But I'm thirty years old! I Wanted to say but then I realized I probably look around the same age as the four who brought me here do, fifteen or sixteen years old.

"Thank you sir." I say starting to stand up.

"Uh uh!" Mr Lazar says. "Not so fast. We still don't know where you're going to be staying."

"I do." I say

"Where?"

"Don't worry about that sir." I get up and leave his office before he could say anything. Leaving the school building I head for one of the alleyways that always pop up around public schools.

"Why am I here and at a school of all places?" I complain sitting down not too far from the entrance, hidden behind an old and forgotten billboard. "I hate schools." I lean back resting my head on the wall, closing my eyes.

I'm woken up by screaming, laughing and giddy chattering. I look out the entrance of the alley to find kids wearing knapsacks walking past in groups. Guess schools over. I think standing up and stretching before going back to the school. I'm not sure why, I guess I wanted to see what the four kids that found me are up to?

"Hey!" Someone calls and I turn around to find Al running towards me with the others not far behind. Without stopping Al grabs my hands, forcing me to run with him. I try to protest but he doesn't listen.

Finally he stops and I double over, wheezing. "Running isn't my strong suit." I say after I catch my breath. Wow that's a weird thing to say, I shouldn't be able to breathe.

"Don't be such a baby." Susie says. "C'mon. Mom wants to meet you." Confused, I followed them into a house.

"Mom, we're home!" Susie calls and a woman walks into the room almost immediately, and I notice that Susie is a spitting image of her mother. Shoulder length wavy blond hair, wide curious crystal blue eyes and perfectly tanned skin. The only thing Susie has that her mother doesn't seem to have is a forest of freckles that dot her nose.

"Mom, this is our new friend and he needs somewhere to stay. Can he stay with us?"

"Sure, why not?" Susie's mother says with a shrug. "He can wear one of the boys' clothes I doubt they mind."

Al takes my hand again, dragging me up a staircase stopping in front of a door. "You look exhausted. Shower and I'll give you clothes to change into- once I find 'em."

I chuckle, "Alright."

"This is the bathroom." Al says and I turn the knob. "I'll leave the clothes outside the door." I nod before going into the bathroom. It feels weird to shower with human flesh but I get it done quickly, grabbing the clothing Al left for me outside the door.

I'm finished changing and I make the mistake of looking into the mirror above the sink. "I look so.. odd." I whisper. Skin as pale as paper and green eyes sunken like pot holes in the street and a mass of white hair on my head. I wonder.. I cover my right eye with my hand, curious to know if I'm still blind. Answer: yes.

I leave the bathroom, following the sound of Susie's voice. I knock on the door. "Can I come in?"

"Sure Susie says. I walk in to see the four sitting on the floor of what I can only assume is Susie's room. Imagine everything girl. Great, now stuff it into a small room and cover it all in pink and glitter. That's the only way I can describe her room. There should be a warning sign on her door that says 'Warning Contents of Room Will Probably Cause Eye Problems Wear Sunglasses'
