Chapter 13: New and old friends

Percy's POV

The boys were to busy staring at me to help so I grabbed onto the railing for dear life while slowly coming down "is anyone gonna help me down before I trip and die cause of these stupid shoes?!" That sparked some movement.

Dick came up and tried to get me to grab his arm, the one that I just stitched. That bastard.

I pushed him to the other side and grabbed the healed arm.

"I'm not about to undo my handiwork you idiot"

He chuckles and helps me down.

—-Time skip—— (in the car)

We eventually made it to the car and I'm proud to say I only tripped 3 times one of which Damien even helped me, though directly afterwards he cussed me out saying how clumsy and stupid I was but I couldn't help but smile.

I ruffled his hair a bit. At this he blushed ever so slightly while yelling at me a bunch claiming I messed up his hair which mind you looked exactly the same as before.

Anyways back to the car trip. We were all sitting in the car just messing around. I could tell that Jason wanted to talk but I ignored him pretending to be more interested in my shoes.

Tim and Dick were playing a game on their phones and Damien was doing his own thing. Jason was pretending to watch the two but I could see the glance he was giving me from my peripherals but once again I don't wanna open that can of worms. I'm just hoping he'll forget about it by the end of the night.

Instead I let my mind wander to Annabeth and where she might be. Half way through my thinking I noticed that Jason had given up and decided to actually pay attention to Dick and Tim. I didn't realize my eyes were watering until a tear slipped down my cheek.

Damien scooted over and in a quieted voice he said "Hey Percy, you okay?" His voice was forced to sound like he didn't care but I saw right through it.

"Oh uh yeah" I quickly wiped my face of any trace of sadness before giving him a quick smile.

"Yeah, yeah. It's not like I care or anything" he huffed but gave me a side hug.

I smiled for real and gave him a full hug to which he allowed.

I didn't realize but the others were watching us in awe.

"How'd you tame the demon?" Dick asked.

"OH SHUT IT GRAYSON!" Then they started fighting again but I couldn't help but smile. The car stopped but no one made a move for the door. So I did the same and stayed still.

In came about 5 people, one seemed to be a certain redhead.

"Walls!" I got up and hugged him.

"Hey Perc!" He hugged back.

The others seemed very curious, one seemed jealous and one had a surprised look on their face.

"Uh Wally, how do you know the new Wayne?" Said a girl with long blonde hair and dark grey eyes.

I froze upon seeing her.

She looked like Annabeth. I mean I knew she wasn't her but still, the resemblance is there, the blonde hair, the grey eyes, the calculating look. The only thing different was she didn't have the stunning princess curls Annie had as well as-

"Uh Perc? Is everything okay?" Wally was waving his hand in front of my face.

"O-oh yeah! Yeah I'm okay, you just look like someone I know! I haven't seen her in a while" the ending came out sounding a bit more sad than intended but I just covered it with a smile.
