(Y/N) POV
"You're the new headmaster?" I ask in shock as Kelly nods.
"Yes...surprising isn't it? I found out today too," she says as Neo smiles
"Does that mean I can see you every day?" She asks as Kelly happily nods
"I woulda thought Goodwitch would be headmaster," I say
"Yeah, I thought so too, but I guess Ozpin left a letter making me headmaster," she says
"Weird," I mutter as she invites us inside.
"It is a little weird...and I don't know a thing about running a school either, Glynda is gonna help me for the first little bit," Kelly tells us.
"How is she taking the news? I think she and Ozpin were pretty close," I point out
"Glynda has always been good at hiding her emotions. She seems to be taking it fine...but I wouldn't be surprised if she is having a hard time," Kelly says
She looks around the office and back to us
"What are two doing here?" She asks
"Oh, yeah. We were doing to talk to Indigo," I say as I completely forgot why we came here
"We will get out of your hair mom...Cya later," Neo says as we leave
We made our way to our dorm room.
We didn't have to look for Indigo very hard...lucky for us, she was sitting on her bed with her eyes shut.
When we entered the room, her eyes rushed open and looked us over.
"You two are finally back eh?" She asks as Neo and I nod
"Yep...and sorry to get right to business," I say as I start describing my dream. Indigo listened carefully and stopped me multiple times asking for more details.
"I'm not sure...it's hard to paint the picture your describing," she says as an idea pops up
"You can gain from reading someone's mind right?" She asks as I nod
"If you can "copy" someone's skills and then "paste" into your own...couldn't you do the reverse? Copy from your own head and then paste into someone else?" She says as I think for a bit.
"Maybe," I mutter as I remind myself how to do my copying technique. Instead...I do reverse.
I concentrate on my dreams and then I read Indigo's mind...put it in...put it in...paste it.
Indigo's eyes go wide as she receives it.
"I remember it," she says as my concentration is broken.
"Or I did until you stop," she says looking at me.
"Wait? So you saw it...and then didn't?" I ask her as she nods
"Yes...it was a weird feeling...I suddenly got it...and then I didn't," she says as Neo speaks up
"Maybe (Y/N) can transmit his own thoughts? And since he was thinking of the dream, he transmitted them to Indigo and then when he stopped the transmutation stopped too," Neo says as Indigo thinks
"Yes...that would be plausible. If (Y/N) can read minds, it might be a two way street," Indigo says.
"If he allows us...maybe we can communicate using no words. Currently, he can see our thoughts...but he must respond using physical words...maybe he allow us to peer into his own head and then whatever he thinks, he can tell us without words," Indigo continues
"To simplify, (Y/N) can read minds...and he also insert his own mind into ours...effectively allowing us to read his mind too," she finishes
"Ok...wanna try again?" I ask her as she nods
We tried again for an hour but I couldn't make a repeat of what happened earlier.
"Maybe we got lucky?" I ask as she shrugs.
"Possible," she says unsure
"Or maybe you just need practice," she says as Neo perks up
"Why don't (Y/N) and I practice with each other? I mean, it's something we can do after school," Neo says
"Why not," I mutter as Neo smiles in her wheelchair.
"Ok, I'll do some digging into this white man and this alternate universe thing with the little info I have. You focus on that new ability so you can show me your dreams in my head," Indigo says
"Good plan," I say as I look around
"Where's David?" I ask as she laughs
"I forgot about him," she says
"Pretty sure he is with Velvet," she says as I Neo smiles
"Can we go see her!" Neo asks me
"Of course we can," I say as the short girl literally pulls me in to push her wheelchair around.
"To Velvet!" She says cheerfully.
I wave to Indigo as we leave.
Neo seemed excited to finally see Velvet again. She had heard about Velvet's incident with Cardin and she was worried sick.
I guess the nurses decided to keep Velvet in the infirmary to make sure she didn't have any lasting damage to her ears
I hear from Indigo that David basically hasn't left her side except to visit us every now and then.
"What do you think about your new ability?" She asks me
"We don't know if it's real or not right now...but it can be handy in future if I can actually do it," I say as she nods
"It would be nice to be on the other side...instead of always getting my mind read, I can see into yours too," she says beaming
"If I let you," I tease she puffs her cheeks
"You would right?" She asks cutely
"I'm not sure," I say laughing
"Oh come on," she says. But before she could continue to press the issue, we walked into the infirmary.
"Neo!" Velvet says excited as Neo urges me to push her to Velvet quicker
"Velvet!" Neo returns the gesture as Velvet looks a little shock
"I heard you got your voice back...but I have didn't believe it," the bunny girl says as Neo laughs
"Yep. I can talk to you for real now,"
