Mind Reader (Neo X Male Reader)

First Friend

(Y/N) POV

Me and Neo boarded bullhead as we head to Beacon for the first time

The ship was full of young people, all of them were around our age.

I'm so excited!

"Yea, yea, I'm sure you are," I talk to her as she vibrates in her seat

You got it lucky! I had to work hard to get here and you get invited just like that

Neo puffs her cheek as I chuckle

"You jelly?" I ask as she nods

"Isn't that just adorable," I tease her as she blushes

We can see Beacon outside of our windows now.

Beacon Academy, one of the four main academies for Huntsmen and Huntresses. What do they do you might ask....they fight the Grimm and generally help around.

Oh yea, Grimm. I've never really encountered them before....actually I never have. But they are creatures of your nightmares.

They feed off negativity and they use it to track people...either way really bad creatures.

The ship landed and first one out was a blonde guy as he spills his guts in a garbage can.

"That looks nice," I mutter as Neo snickers.

We walk past him as we wander the campus. It was as grand as they say. The tower literally towered over us. And the building as a whole was huge.

"What next?" I ask Neo

There's a meeting soon.

Neo starts leading us to where a large group of students are waiting.

An entrance ceremony starts soon

"I see, looking around, everyone looks friendly," I say as she nods

People at school usually are

"Ah I see," I mutter as we wait. Eventually Ozpin appeared and gave a speech. It was pretty normal to what you would expect.

I learned the huntress that captured my name was Mrs. Goodwitch, she's a teacher here I guess.

She spoke strictly and I could tell no one was going to go against her word.

"Sleeping on the ground...just like old times," I mutter as Neo nudges me. I look at her as she covers her mouth

Should we try and make friends now that we have free time?

"Friends...um...yeah, sure I don't see why not," I say as she smiles and jumps up and down.

"Do you have any friends from your old school here?" I ask as she stops.

No, I couldn't talk so no one interacted with me. But you're here now! You can do the talking for me!

"Ohhhh, so you're making me do all the dirty work," I say as she smirks

Nooooo....finally (Y/N) can help me make friends!

Neo makes a suspicious face as she realizes I'm still reading her mind.

Stop it! Get out of my head and let's get to work!

She shuts her eyes to break the connection as I sigh.

"Ok, let's get on it," I mutter as she smiles

I look around for people

"You'll have to direct me to the people you want to talk to," I say as she looks around excited like a little kid

She points to a girl with a red cape....it's the same one I ran into at the dust shop

"No, pick another," I say quickly as she looks at me confused. But before I could read her mind she continued looking.

She pointed to a redhead as I look around her. She was mostly alone...and she was wearing some pretty expensive armour

"I guess," I mutter as we walk up to her. Neo grabbed her attention by waving and looking at her

"Oh, hello!" She says to Neo

"Hi," I say as I join in.

"It's quite cramped in here, am I right," she says nervously as Neo smirks and nods....why is she smirking?

"Yea, it is. My friend here wanted to "talk" with you and introduce herself," I say as the redhead smiles and looks at Neo

"I'm Pyrrha, what's your name?" She asks

"Her names Neo, short for Neopolitan," I say as the redhead looks confused

"Neo is mute," I continue as she nods and smiles

"Nice to meet you Neo," she says as Neo looks at me

Tell her it's nice to meet her too...and also I hope we can get to know each other better

"Neo says it's nice to meet you too, and she looks forward to getting to know more about you," I say as she looks at me even more confused

"I'm (Y/N), I'm a Mind Reader," I tell her as I introduce myself

"Wow! That's cool!" Pyrrha says looking at me, "can you read my mind too?" She asks

Surely he can't read minds

"You're saying that I can't read minds," I mutter

"Oookay," she says thinking

What object of mine can I ask him to name for me...oh maybe my last name, I haven't told him that my last name is Nikos

"Your last name is Nikos," I say before she can even ask the question

"Wow, you really did read my mind," she says surprised as I shrug

"I told you," I say as Neo smirks and point me

Tell her my semblance!

"Neo, I don't know much about your semblance myself," I tell the short girl as she pouts

Come on, do it anyway? Please!

"Fine," I say turning to Pyrrha

"Neo's semblance is Physical Illusions," I say as Neo punches my side

Tell her more about it!

"I don't know anything about it," I defend myself as she pouts. During this, Pyrrha laughs which catches our attention

"Wow, you two are close," she says as we both nod

Neo tugs on my sleeve

Ask if we can be friends

"Yea, yea, I got it," I mutter

"She's asking if you want to be friends," I say as Pyrrha nods

"Sure I'd love to be your friend," she says as Neo smiles ear to ear and starts jumping up and down.

"She's like a kid," Pyrrha comments

"Yea, to my knowledge you're her first friend apart from myself," I tell her.

I smile as I see Neo so happy...her smile melts my heart like nothing else.
