"It's the two of us till the end of time."
"Damn straight."
"Now, where is my favorite niece?"
"She's your only niece." I remind him.
"Which makes her my favorite."
"You suck."
"You love me." I smile, and he loops his arm with mine, and I lead him to Palmer's nursery. "You know she looks a lot like me."
"She has Carter's eyes."

"Why would you want that lying whore anywhere near your child?"
"You don't have to accept Lily, and I'm not asking you. All I'm doing is letting you know what I'm choosing." I explain.
"She's going t disappoint you."
"As long as she doesn't disappoint Palmer, that's all I care about." I fire back. "I more than myself to think about now, Chuck." I look to Palmer's sleeping form. "I have to make the world a better place for her. Something Bart failed to do for us."

"Let's get this over with." Chuck says bluntly.
"Courage, nephew. I'm going to be running Bass Industries. And you two are about to inherit over a billion dollars." Jack says and goes to touch my shoulder, but I slap his hand away. "Lighten up, Ella. I was one of the first people to hold you when you were born."
"I'm going to burn this coat now. it's infected." I fire back, which just makes him laugh more.
"If we know our father, they'll be strings attached. We'll look like marionettes." Chuck argues, "He wouldn't miss his last chance to put me in my place."
