Playing With The Lynx

Two| Chang Dai

Y/n was walking to a restaurant called Chang Dai to apply for a job.

She often walked by this store and only saw one person working there so she figured why not give it a try.

Today y/n decided that she wasn't going to wear flashy clothes but stick to street wear so she wouldn't be as noticeable.

Today was neutral. The sun wasnt to hot and the breeze wasnt too strong. Y/n walked down abandoned streets.

It was the middle of the afternoon and almost everyone is either at work or school.

She walked silently down the streets her eyes looking around and remembering every detail. She made it to chang Dai but she felt an uneasy presence.

She felt into her pocket and she felt mire reassured when she felt the cold metal of both her blade and gun.

After yesterday she decided to bring her gun. You could never be too careful.

She pulled down her hood as she walked into the restaurant. A pale skinned girl with a short bob walked up to y/n.

"Hello how can I help you?" She asked and y/n tried to smile at her. "Um are you looking for employees?"

Nadia smiled softly at her "sorry but not at the moment" y/n's hopeful expression dropped. "Oh, ok thanks anyway" she said pulling back up her hood and was about to walk out when Nadia called her.

"um you know what Im actually looking for a waitress" she said and y/n turned around

"its okay you don't need to hire me" she said but Nadia chuckled "no actually its just me and my broth but he's never here. So its fine"

Y/n nodded taking back off her hood and looking around the store. "when can I start?" "Tomorrow would be best. Around seven thirty" she said.

Y/n nodded "ok see you then. Thanks..." She felt comfortable with Nadia. Her presence was kinda like a mental hug. It put y/n at ease and hopefully that would keep her anger issues under control better.

She waved as she exited the small restaurant and walked down the streets of China town.

What Should I do now? She thought kicking a small black Pebble that was in the middle of the sidewalk.

The sun was high in the sky now making small beads of sweat roll down her face. She wiped her forehead with the back if her hand before walking towards her beat up apartment.

She collapsed onto her bed and she heard the springs groan as she tolled over onto her back gazing at her ceiling that had small cracks in it.

She heard a gun shot and y/n tensed up and reached for her gun. She often heard the sounds of gun shots or street flights. But thats what's to be expected from living in a place like this.

She hesitantly looked out of her window through a little gap in her blind. She saw a man with a Mohawk. His hair was dyed purple and she could see a silver piercing above his eye.

Shorter felt eyes on him and  he turned his head to be met with dull e/C eyes. It was a girl and she was looking at him with a neutral expression.

He flashed her a smerk before she rolled her eyes and closed her blind. He chuckled to have himself before telling his men to clean up the mess.

Dino kept trying to mess with his and Ash's men. But they didn't seem to be succeeding.

"ok guys I have to go help Nadia with the shop before she tears my head off. See ya guys later"

"bye boss" they said in unison. Shorter walked through alleyways until he made it to China town.

He was occasionally greeted by some of his men and a few regular costumers at the shop.

He entered the restaurant and the small bell by the door rang. Nadia walked over but her eyes hardened when she saw her brother.

"your late" she said with her arms crossed. Shorter scratched the back of his neck sheepishly "I got caught up in some things. Y'know how things are"

She scofed " I hired a waitress today" she said "oh ya who?" Shorter asked

"some girl. I wasn't going to hire her but she seemed kinda desperate and you know I can't turn down kids like that" she said with a chuckle.

Shorter shook his head with a smile "your too good for this world big sis" she said ruffling her hair. She swatted his hand with a playful expression before pointing at the kitchen.

"get your ass in there and start cooking" "Jeeze woman" shorter muttered under his breath. "What was that?" Nadia asked her arms crossed and her eyebrow raised.

"n-nothing" he said and she chuckled shaking her head "thats what I thought"
