Chapter 32

I traveled my eyes around Asren's school. It's quite big and prestigious. Heard it was built from the early 1600s. No wonder why it looks ancestral like school. I put my shades on as I walked through Asren's room.

"Ma'am Ashka? Anong ginagawa niyo rito?" bungad ni Mary sa akin.

"I wanna see my daughter before I go to work. Why?" I crossed my arms.

"Sikat po kayo, Ma'am. Marami nang nakakakilala sa inyo rito. Baka mamaya, dumugin kayo."

Inayos ko nang mabuti ang shades ko saka tinabunan ng bandana ang aking muka. Mary has a point. But I want to see my daughter first! Ngumuso ako.

"Where's her room? I'll take a peek."

"Dito po."

Naunang maglakad si Mary, sumunod naman ako. And really, people's face here looks confused when they look at me. I gulped. I paced until it's my daughter's classroom. Sumilip ako nang kaonti at nakita ang anak kong nakatayo sa gitna.

"This is my Mama. I love my Mama so much! She works to fulfill our needs. She is tall, slender, and beautiful! Even if we only spend a little time together because she's busy, I still love my Mama! I love her so much! She's my family!"

She smiled at the whole class proudly. My lips trembled. Baby...

"Where's your Daddy? You should introduce your family, Astraea. Bakit Mommy mo lang?" her classmate asked.

"I don't know him." Asren simply answered.

The whole class laughed.

"Why? I have Mommy and Daddy! You have no Daddy! Only Mommy! Kawawa ka naman, Astraea. Kawawa! Hahaha! Walang Daddy!"

Asren... My heart hurt. I saw how her face looks hurt from what her classmates say. My poor baby looks hurt and I want to hug her real tight. I can't help but blame the teacher, how dare her let these kids bully my daughter?!

"Yes, I have no Daddy! But I have beautiful Mama! I mean, very beautiful like me! E, kayo? Ang papangit ng mga Mommy niyo! My Mama's a model while yours are ugly ducklings. Kawawa Mommy niyo kapag nakita ng mga Daddy niyo Mama ko! Bleh!"

Nakagat ko ang aking labi. Asren... that's bad, baby.

"Ma'am, may nakapansin po sa inyo. Kailangan niyo na pong umalis!"

My eyes bore to Mary. Lumagpas ang tingin ko sa likod niyang mga tao na tumatakbo patungo sa gawi ko. My eyes widened. Oh shit!

Good thing, I'm on my sneakers right now. I ran quickly towards my car in the school's parking lot. I was sweating bullets as I entered my car and immediately started its engine.

I drove fast towards the Management. Nang makapasok ako ay agad kong napansin ang  paningin ng mga tao sa akin. I didn't mind it and just looked for my Manager. I found her after a few minutes.

"Miss Ashka, grabe pala 'yong issue. Ikaw ang sinisisi ng iba sa pagkatanggal ng ilang empleyado rito."

"What?!" my forehead creased.

"Dahil sa nangyari noong nakaraang araw. Isang tanyag na direktor ang nawalan ng trabaho at kinuhanan ng lisenya para mag-direk ulit. I was peeing that day. Mind telling me what happened?"

Napatitig ako sa kawalan. Leo did actually fire them... I can't believe it. But they deserved it, though. I was being harassed and they blamed me for overreacting. How's that?! Stupid.

I remained my mouth shut. It has happened already. Making a fuss will only worsen the situation. I sighed.

"Miss Ashka, don't worry. Ginagawan na po ng paraan para hindi na madawit ang pangalan niyo. This all makes no sense fighting over." si Mrs. Terry.
