PROLOGUE

Prologue

"Forgive me, Father, for I have sinned."

I have said those words countless of times already since my childhood and teenage days but this time, I'll be saying these wholeheartedly, without any bitterness and only my pure and sincere heart.

I can't believe this is happening. Everything feels surreal. This is the first time for the past years I'm gonna repent my sins. Now, I say... everything has fallen into place. After all of those heartaches and woes, I still can't believe I've surmounted and came back to life again.

My life lost its hue from all the happenings in my life for the past years but now... I never thought I could survive. Now I am here in front of Him, asking for forgiveness.

"Repent your sins,"

I bowed my head and said every detail I knew were sins. I've committed a lot back then. I forgave myself. I forgave those people who hurt me. The hatred I've felt only gives great burden inside me. I'd rather forgive and live a normal life. That's all I want. Peace of mind.

Nang makalabas sa simbahan, I suddenly received a call. Dala ang aking Gucci purse, naglakad ako patungo sa aking kotse na naka-park hindi kalayuan sa simbahan. I answered the call as I opened the car's door.

"Ma'am, matagal ka pa po ba? Kanina pa po kasi nagwa-wild si Asren. Hinahanap ka po."

Napahilot ako sa aking sintedo. Pumikit ako nang mariin bago sinagot ang katawag.

"I'll be there for fifteen minutes. Sabihin mo, pauwi na ako."

"Sige po, Ma'am."

I dropped the call and started the engine of my car. Mabilis ang pagmamaneho ko pauwi. Unfortunately,  I got stocked up on traffic. I frowned as I saw how long the cars were before me.

Muntik pa akong mapamura pero nang maalala kong kagagaling ko lang magsimba, pinigilan ko ang sarili. Okay. Being a good girl didn't  suit me really well. But I'll strive to be a good woman. No, a grown woman.

Matagal ang naging takbo ng byahe. My supposed time of arrival exceeds for ten minutes. I'm so bored waiting for the traffic to go on reason why I wander my sight around.

My eyes fixed on the billboard attached to one of the most successful skyscrapers in the city. My heart skipped a beat as I saw who was in that billboard.

Napalunok ako at agad nag-iwas ng tingin. I'm sweating bullets although malakas ang aircon ng kotse ko. Nakagat ko ang aking pang-ibabang labi. I was just hallucinating, right?

Sinulyapan ko ulit iyon at napagtantong hindi ako nagha-hallucinate o ano. Nakagat ko ulit ang labi ko. Sakto namang naging matiwasay na ang daloy ng trapiko. I suddenly started the engine and drove through.

The aircon in my car is on its maximum yet the damp on my face is evident. I... I can't believe what I have seen just now.

"Holy cow..." sambit ko at napapikit nang mariin.

I arrived at the house. Nasa labas pa lang ay dinig na dinig ko na ang malakas ngunit maliit na boses ng nasa loob. Ibinigay ko sa security guard ang susi ng kotse ko para mai-park niya.
