Avery's POV

"Av! Gotta go. I'm so damn late now, babe!" Raven quickly kissed me on the lips and head out.

Matagal kasing natulog kagabi kaya ayan, late. 7:30 am pala ang pasok niya ngayon. Inaya pa kong mag–movie marathon, maaga naman pala pasok niya.

Buti nga.

Inayos ko muna ang higaan namin at inilagay ang bath towel na ginamit niya sa banyo. Pati ang nakakalat niyang necktie na pinagpilian kanina ay inilagay ko rin sa cabinet niya.

Mabuti na lang at 9:00 am pa ang pasok ko ngayon kaya okay lang kung matagalan ako.

Matapos kong maiayos ang lahat ng gamit na nasa kwarto namin, napagdesisyonan ko munang kumain.

I was about to go to the kitchen when suddenly my phone rang. Who'd call me this early?

I grabbed my phone on top of the table to check who's calling me. Unknown number. Huh? Where did this one got my supposed to be exclusive phone number?

Nakipagdebate pa ako sa sarili kung alin ang pipiliin ko. Sasagutin ko ba o hindi, which is useless, kasi lahat naman ng tawag sinasagot ko. Baka importante.

"Hello? This is Avery Guevarra on the line." I said after pressing the accept button.

Medyo natagalan sa pagsagot ang nasa kabilang linya. "Hi. Good morning, this is Dylan Villacampa, from The V Group. We'd like to offer something to you, Ms. Avery Guevarra." Diretsong sagot niya. It's so formal. Siguro isa siyang empleyado sa isang company. Nahihimigan kong medyo bata pa ang kanyang boses pero it's with authority.

"Wait." I said with arched brow even though he's not able to witness it. "You'll call me at a random moment and at this instant you'll tell me you have something to offer to me? Baka drugs yan! Ayoko nyan!" I almost shouted.

The man on the other line chuckled. I sighed. Marunong naman palang tumawa akala ko masyadong pormal to. "You're giving me the creeps, you know." I blurted out without even thinking what I just said.

He stopped chuckling for a while and I heard him sigh. "Okay, I'm sorry about that miss Avery. I don't want to make you suffer on a heart attack though. Don't worry, I'll explain it this time. Nagmamadali lang talaga ako. And no, it's not drugs, silly. It's work." Naramdaman kong nagsalita siya sa background. Cancel my appointments, Rick. Thank you.

Tumikhim siya na ibig sabihin nakabalik na siya. "Oh, about that. We'd like to hire you as our model, miss Avery. International. If you're interested we'll give you the address of our company, The V Group and—" I stopped him.

"I know where is The V Group. It's in the news I've heard and also it's on social media." Sikat ang company na to, and after schooling I'm looking forward on working to this company.

But right now? I don't know. And I'm also confused. Bakit ako? Wala naman akong naaalalang pinag–applyan ko ah?

"Uhm. Mr. Dylan, why me? There are a lot of girls out there, better than me."

"You're the best choice we have, Miss Avery. When one of our Ad staffs was searching for some models for the international project of our company, she happened to spot you at the mall, wearing your uniform. That's why we had a hint to where we'll locate you. And as we looked over your biography, don't be scared you know," He said while laughing softly, "I mean, you're not just the looks, Miss Avery, you also have the brain. You're really a model. A real one."

I cleared my throat. Whoa, natahimik ako dun. I didn't expect his outburst. It's just that— napakabilis lang ng lahat ng nangyayaring ito. Scam ba 'to? Ang random e.

"Uhm, I don't think I can— Look, I still want to finish my degree. So I think that's not the best choice for me now."

"We'll not force you, Miss Avery. The decision is yours. But if you'll ever change your mind, we're just a call away. Think about it over and over again. This might change your life." He said with firm authority. "Thank you for the time, Miss Avery. Goodbye."

"G–goodbye." I said and turned the call off.

What was that?

May bigla na lang tatawag na nagsasabing gagawin ka nilang model sa company nila. Why me? I'm still confused. Sa dami ng babae na gustong mag–apply dyan sa company nila pero bakit ako? Tumawag pa talaga sila para lang sa offer na iyon.

International. At talagang di lang sa bansa, pati sa ibang bansa. Kung iisipin, isa itong napakalaking opportunity. Pero... paano si Raven? I mean, if ever I'll accept this, I will have no time to be with him and that would just ruin our relationship. I don't want that to happen.

Yes, I like the offer so damn much of ever it's legit. But the consequences, I don't think I would appreciate that.

"Raven! Hi," A girl waved her hand on Raven and smiled sweetly. I almost glared at her. Kita na nga nyang magkasama kami ni Raven kung maka ngiti yung babaeng yun. Budburan kita ng asin dyan.

Humigpit ang pagkakahawak ni Raven sa bewang ko and gave me his most apologetic smile it almost break my heart. Shiz. Why is he so handsome?

I just glared at him but unfortunately he just kept on staring at me.

"Don't look at me like that!" I said while rolling my eyes at him. "Pumunta ka na sa babae mo." I said and took away from his grip.

"Avery." He made me look at him in the eyes by turning me around to face him. "Hindi ko na nga siya pinansin ah." He said while pouting. Ugh.

I look at him in disgust. "Umamin ka!" Kinwelyuhan ko siya at inilapit sa akin yung mukha niya. "May nangyari ba sa inyo ng babaeng yun?!"

Matagal siyang nakasagot and instead gave me a boyish grin. "Nope."

"Shut it, Rave. You're way too obvious! Tsk." Sabi ko at akmang aalis sa kanyang pagkakahawak ngunit mas hinigpitan niya lang ito.

He just chuckled at my retort and placed his hand on the side of my waist. "Wala nga e."

I can sense that he's now smiling. Jerk. "Hindi naman lahat ng bumabati sa akin naikama ko na ah." Sabi niya gamit ang pinakamalambing niyang boses. I almost shivered. Goosebumps, err.

"Malamang hindi lahat," He smiled at what I've said with glistening eyes. I continued. "Kasi 50% sa kanila naikama mo na!" I snorted and he just stared at me with amazement and amusement written on his face.

Then he bursted laughing at what I've said. "What of course that's not true baby," He smiled, his dimple showing and his eyes became smaller than usual. What a cutie.

Yeah right, snap out of it, Avery. Alam mo ng walang mapaglagyan ang kakisigan ng Raven Lim na 'yan.

"Whatever, Lim. What–e–ver!" He just kissed me straight on the lips without a warning even and laughed wholeheartedly.

"My baby is just too jealous. Too jealous." Piece of shake! This man is conceited.

"And my baby too is just too arrogant. Too arrogant." I said while rolling my eyes.

He stopped for a while and stared at me— wide–eyed. Then he showed his girls–swoon–over–this–a–million–times type of smile which almost melt my heart.

"I love it when you call me baby." He blunted and kissed me, hungrily.

My heart fluttered. Oh, God Rave.
