(Author's Note: Written for The_Weekend_Write-In prompt for this week, "crack."  A drabble - 100 words. NB My own photo, and the whips were for show, they never touched the horses!)

Before Covid, we were fortunate to take a wonderful tour down the Danube from Budapest to Bucharest. One of the highlights was a visit to a Hungarian horse farm. Generally, I'm not a big fan of events created specifically for tourists, but this was an exception.

In the nomadic past, men would have lived on horseback for days at a time and the horses would be taught tricks as a matter of survival, not for entertainment.

One of the most dramatic events was the whip cracking. Loud enough to break the sound barrier (true fact), but ignored by the horses!
