"Wow!" I whisper as look at the sun setting on the horizon. Jas immediately turns around; her eyes glaring at me as if she knows what I actually meant. I smirked. Well maybe she's right; it has a double meaning.
I stand up from the hood of my car and walk towards her. I wrap my hands around her waist and kiss her on the forehead. As she rests her head on my chest, things start to flash back in my head. Like the day we first met, the day I asked her out, the day we first kissed...
I feel the warmth of the sun resting on my face; I open my eyes realizing that all that was a dream. Man, I hope I didn't wake up; I surely wouldn't mind re-living that moment over and over again. As I reach for my phone to check the time, I find myself staring at a picture of us on my side table.
"Geez Sebastian, move on!" I buried my face on the pillow. If only it's that easy -I thought -I would have done that weeks ago.
[Knock, knock]
"Seb, honey you might miss your flight." And just like that reality hits me! I am leaving today...for good! My door creaks open and my mom walks into my room. "Morning," she greets, "why don't you get dressed and breakfast will be ready in a couple minutes."
"Mom," I caught her attention as she was about to walk out, "thank you, for everything." She walks back towards me and gives me a really tight hug. I didn't even know my mom's that strong.
"You take care, alright." I look at her knowing how much she's holding back her tears while she said those words.
