Start from the beginning

"Oh shit!"

I let off shots, but the nigga started running in a fucking zig zag. I hadn't heard of some stupidity like that since elementary school.

"This nigga," Shawn was keeping up.

I wanted him cornered. Wasting bullets was what he wanted me to do.

Risky stopped running and untucked his gun from his jeans. Now my dumbass had to duck shots too.

My heart pumped with adrenaline and, with every beat, I remembered why I did this shit.

I let off my uzi again, making sure that it hit him for sure.

Finally, I got him.

He dropped to the ground and shallow breaths that slightly lifted his chest were the only sign of life still in his body.

I felt accomplished. My brother was avenged and a weight was lifted off of my shoulders.

"Come on, so we can rob this nigga." I forgot Shawn was behind me.

I ain't want nothing that Risky had.

As I turned around to hurry up back to the car, I heard another two shots that definitely didn't come from me.

"Fuck!"

I stared in horror seeing Rashawn fall to the ground too. This couldn't be happening again. There was no way.

"Yo, where he get you at?" Panic was obviously present in my voice.

"I'm good. He shot me in the leg, bro."

I silently thanked God that it was no where else.

"Ight, lemme help you get up. I gotta bring you to the hospital, Shawn. You bleeding a lot." I put his left arm around my shoulder for him to get up with support.

"Nah, don't bring me in there. I'm good. I can take the bullet out."

"You're bleeding too much, Shawn. I gotta bring you. I have to." I couldn't have another  brother die because of me.

When he was situated in the back seat of the car, I drove as quickly as I could to the hospital.

We knew the risk of all this, but it was always hard for me to contain myself when shit got out of control.

The emergency room was practically empty.

"My brother's been shot! I need some help getting him out the car!" I yelled through the doors and a few nurses came out to help me.

Shawn was falling in and out of consciousness because of the amount of blood his was losing.

They put him on a stretcher and rolled him out of my sight. God, I was stressed. I was nervous about everything. My mind was trying to process too many things at once.

I killed Risky, but I still wasn't satisfied. There was still an empty whole in my heart that I didn't know how to fill.

It still felt like something was missing.

I knew that more than one thing was missing.

My brother was missing. My father was missing. My childhood best friend was missing. My mother and I's relationship was even missing.

No matter how I lost the people in my life, I was hurt by it and I was always left to figure it out for myself.

It was easy for me to stay true to myself, but my true self was just as affected by loss as anyone else would be.

"Sir? Excuse me, sir?" A voice interrupted my thoughts. "Are you alright?"

I looked at who was talking to me. A white doctor with blonde hair was staring at me with concern.

"Mhm, yea. I'm good."

"Are you sure? Being in the hospital waiting for someone can be hard. We have staff here that works with the friends and families of those that come in here for treatment. If you want, I can find someone to meet with you."

Damn, Now I know I ain't look that distraught.

"Nah, it's okay. Thanks though."

"Well if you starting feeling worse, don't be afraid to come up to the desk." She walked away.

I knew that my mind would continue to run wild the longer I sat here uncomfortably in this waiting room.

My fingers were already on their way to calling my girlfriend.

She answered with big bun in the screen, "Hey, Sav. How'd it go? "She seemed like she was in a good mood.

I could hear Mari making noise in the back ground.

"Rashawn got shot."

Jia stopped whatever she was doing, "He got shot? Is he okay? Do you need me to come over there?"

"He got shot in the leg and he's losing a lot of blood. I just- Ion know."

"He'll be okay, bae. Don't let your mind wander the way it does. I can bring Mari and come over there if you want."

"Nah, I'm coming home soon. I just wanted to hear your voice. I feel like I'm going crazy in here." I admitted.

"Just come home and go back when you wake up. We can all check on him in the morning."

"I needa be here if sum goes wrong."

"He'll be okay. I wanna make sure you're okay, baby. Please, just come home, okay? I love you, Savior."

"I'm coming. I love you more." I gave in.
