Six Months Later

Veronica's POV

I walked back into my room and he was still reading. I sighed.

"You're so boring!" I said.

"How am I boring?"

"You're reading too much!"

He looked up at me.

"This is a book off of one of the million shelfs you have full of books. How many books do you own that you've read?"

"Maybe a few of them,"

"A few?"

"Okay, maybe all of them and some more than once but you're hanging out with me and you're reading." He sighed.

"I'm almost done,"

"So having 227 pages left is almost done?" He looked at me.

"How the hell do you know exactly how many pages I have left?" I smiled.

"I've read that one a lot,"

"How much?"

"Let's just say too much,"

"Okay, but if you interrupt my reading once more I swear,"

"You swear what? What are you gonna do?" Before he could answer my mom called me.

"One minute," I got up and walked downstairs. "Did you need something?"

"Well, I was wondering something,"

"About what?"

"About you and Jughead,"

"What is it?"

"First off, don't get upset when I ask this but what happened with Archie?"

"He just left. Nothing special."

"He just left you?"

"Yeah,"

"No reason at all?"

"Nope,"

"And then you and Jughead got together almost a year ago?"

"Yeah, why is any of this important?"

"Oh, no reason. I was just curious is all."

"Okay, but now I have a question. If you wanted to know about me and Jughead, which is fine, why being up Archie?"

"I was just curious. You've hung out with Betty, you're dating Jughead, but I've never heard you say anything about Archie since your father and I got home."

"Well, it was in a hurtful way and I don't like talking about it."

"Okay. Jughead seems like he treats you right. But I can tell you lost your trust again after Archie,"

"How could you notice that?"

"I'm your mother, I notice everything."

I sighed.

"Yeah, I guess I did start losing trust in people again."

"Does he know?"

"Okay, mom it's not something bad that everyone needs to know about."

"I know but if he is wondering why you can be so distant at times it can ruin a beautiful thing,"

"I know and he understand what I've told him. Or so he acts like it. But we're fine I guess."

"Okay, that's all I wanted to know."

"Okay?" I questioned. "Can I go back to my room now?"

"Yes, and leave the door open,"

I rolled my eyes and walked back to my room. When I walked through the door Jughead wasn't reading but he was looking at his phone. He looked worried.

"You look upset. What it is?"

"Its my sister,"

"What about her?"

"I don't know but I need to go,"

"Do you want me to come with you?"

"No, but I'll call you later,"

"Okay," I muttered and he left. I sighed. What the hell is happening now?
