I feel little taps touching my arm, they are persistent and then I hear a voice waking me up

"Say wake up mummy" I hear and it is Scarlett's voice, I open my eyes and Scarlett is sitting next to me in our bed, with Violet. They both have a shirt on, Violets says my mum is the best and Scarletts says my bestie is the best mum.

"Good Morning," I say and smile

"Happy mothers day," Scarlett says, shaking Violet's foot, which makes her smile. I think Scarlett was using her foot to tap my arm and I smile laughing

Today is mothers day. It is the day to celebrate mothers and caregivers in the role of mothers that take care of kids day and night.

"Oh why thank you," I say and I take her and snuggle her close

This is the little girl that made me mummy and changed my life. She is the one that allows me to celebrate this day today.

"Happy mothers day," Scarlett says to me this time, not from Violet

"Thank you," I say "Happy Mothers Day," I say back to her

"What, what do you mean?" she asks me

"You are her second mother, you get up during the night, you bathe her, you feed her," I say and she blushes and covers her face.

"You are another motherly role in her life that she is going to cherish," I say

"Stop it" she replies and I laugh

"I have some things to celebrate Aunty Scar," I say and she looks at me shocked. I thought it was the right thing to do, to celebrate Scarlett for taking care of her.

"You are ruining the surprise by being cute," she says and I look confused

"Violet and I did more than cute shirts, we got some things for mummy as well," she says and I smile

"Oh really Vi, what did you get mama" I reply and Scarlett pulls some gifts from beside the bed. I carefully open them and I try to use different expressions so that Violet learns them.

I open the first gift and it is a small box full of self-care products that I always want to buy in a store but never do because I would rather spend my money on Violet. The next one is a personalised book, compiled with all of my moments whilst pregnant and after. It is a picture book full of the best moments of my life.

There is also a candle and a t-shirt in the mix which I smile at. Then there is a small box that I see, and I open it. The box is beautiful and when I open it, there is a necklace in Gold that reads Violet's name.

"Oh my god, it is beautiful," I say

"I thought you would like it, we thought it" she replies

"Thank you Scarlett and my baby Violet," I say and hug Violet close

"My turn," I say and I pull Scarlett's gifts from underneath the bed beside me. I watch her open them and get excited.

She almost starts screaming. I got her a pair of ugg boots that she has been dying to get, some more of her perfume that she refuses to buy because it is too expensive so she would rather wear mine, and a little box full of her fave skincare products.

She smiles and hugs me so tight that I can't breathe. She then grabs the baby off of me and holds her close and she whispers something.

"What was that?" I ask and she shakes her head

"None of your business, it's between me and Violet," she says and I shrug

"Okay, we should get downstairs" I reply and we get up and get dressed enough and walk down the stairs to see my mum in the kitchen

"Happy mothers day mama," I say to my mum and I kiss her on the cheek, Scarlett also kisses her on the cheek. "Violet says happy grandmas day to the best grandma" I add and she smiles and flips pancakes, no matter how old we are my mum always still makes us pancakes on celebration days.

I hand her a card and she opens it, its a spa gift voucher for her to get a spa day. We got them for her, Jane and Scarlett's mum"

"Thank you guys," she says to us opening the card "You did not need to do this"

"Yeah, we did, you are so supportive of us, especially me mum," I say and she hugs me when we break apart she filps the last pancake and puts them on the table. We start plating our food and mum sits down to eat with us and we look at her weirdly

"What can I not eat with my kids?" she asks and Scarlett smiles when she hears this

"Of course you can, you just never do," I say

"It's mothers day" she replies and begins to eat

Violet squeals and I bounce her and we laugh and continue to eat.

"Did you message your mum?" My mum says and to Scarlett

"Mhm" she replies with a mouth full of pancakes "I gave her, her card with a spa voucher last week when we had lunch" she adds

"Like me," mums says and we smile laughing

"Yes, so unoriginal," I say

"No it is perfect, thank you" she replies and we smile

We wait for the rest of my family to get home so we can eat. They give our mother their own individual presents before we present her with our important present which is a framed photo of us kids, including Scarlett and Violet. When mum opens it she bursts into tears. She hugs us all and I cry to

"Why are you crying?" Finn asks me and they all turn to me and laugh

"It's my baby hormones, when mum cries so do I," I say and they laugh at me

After breakfast, we all go to get ready to head to the Shepherd household where we are having a mothers day lunch there. I tried to protest but my mum wanted to go.

I get changed into a cute little dress that I bought last week. I pair it with some tennis shoes and a denim jacket and my new necklace. I dress Violet in a cute little dress and a cardigan too, I even put a pair of shoes on her. Scarlett gets ready and we head to the Shepherds before everyone else

"Happy Mothers day Jane," I say walking into the house and she squeals and wraps her arms around me and I wrap mine around her.

"Happy mothers day to you" she replies and I smile, I hand her the card and she tears up when she opens it.

She hands me and Scarlett a card and they have tickets for a hotel room for 3 days with a spa day fully paid for, we smile and she thanks us for taking care of her grandbaby. We then walk into the backyard and greet everyone else.

They are all out there preparing the food. I say hello to Jax's sisters and Julian, and I try to say hello to Ellie but she ignores me and walks past me. I awkwardly hug Jax and he quietly wishes me happy mothers day. He hasn't said anything to me since I told hime about Ellie. I don't think he believes me. Chloe darts to me and takes the baby. I get myself and my mum a drink before I then move over to hang out with my brothers and I listen to what they are saying. We don't have to wait for long before the food is ready.

"Dig in" I hear Julian say and I head over to start getting food, but Chloe comes over to me and Violet is crying, so I grab her and she is hungry. So I put my plate down and fed her. I feel Ellie staring at me and I feel self-conscious, but Scarlett sees and shields me.

Jane comes out and sees me, and she laughs.

"Mum life right," she says and I laugh too.

Mum life.
