Chapter 52: let it go

The ceremony started and it is time for Gideon's speech.

Our speaker for today is the youngest owner of a billion dollar company. His company became number 1 on the fortune 500 company. He became a cover of forbes magazine and he is also included in People's sexiest man alive and most coveted Bachelor. He studied business, economics and law at Harvard and finish his Masteral and PHD at Oxford please Welcome Mr. James Gideon Arthur Rosen-Hower!

When our director was introducing Gideon I can see that my batchmates are in awe. I want to scream "Thats my Boyfriend!!" But I refrain from doing that.

"Dang! He is so handsome! Did you know that apparently his Girlfriend studies at our School?"

The girls beside me murmur. They giggled like teenagers.
I look at them and said "Really?"

"I can't believe it either! I saw her once but I did not see her face since she is alway looking down or surrounded by her guards. I mean giirrrll why does she need security? She's not that important."

All that she is saying is true but for Gideon I am the most important person for him. He'll have an aneurysm if I told him to remove my guards. I swear Gideon calls me at least 10 times a day no joke.
Sometimes he calls just to tell me that he loves me.

Awe my heart.

"I heard that she's not beautiful. She is pretty normal looking. What did he see in her?"
The other one said.

Normal looking? What kind of description is that?

"Maybe he wants those kind of women."
I replied in defense.

"I doubt that their relationship will last."

Five years is a long time and he still taking care of me and calls me love. I swear he is getting more clingy everyday.

I play with my purple graduation gown and wonder if I can keep this.

"Goodmorning to all of you. I would like to thank the faculty and officials of NYU for inviting me. I am honored to be your speaker for your graduation.

I am not originally your speaker. My girlfriend is the one who is assigned to give a short speech since she is the only Summa Cum laude on your batch but she declined because she is shy so since I love her I volunteer to replace her."

The crowd collectively awe on what Gideon says.

"My speech is brief so that your ceremony will be shorter and you can celebrate longer with your family and loved ones and also this speech needs to be short because my girlfriend's attention span is very limited and I assure you as of now she is not paying attention to me."

Oh there is a loose thread on my graduation robe. Why did I not see it this morning?

"Love pay attention to me please."

I look up and saw Gideon looking at me and simultaneously all the student and guest look at my direction. The only thing missing is a spotlight.

I smiled sheepishly at Gideon. I can't see him clearly but I am sure he is amuse. The girl beside me gasp.

I heard someone shouted "that's my princess!" Blakey!

"You see she's not paying attention. Anyway I congratulate all of you in finishing your degrees. Your life in this campus is nothing compared on what awaits you in the real world. You will experience many struggles and hardships but remember those things will pass and after every problem you will become more stronger and resiliant. Believe in yourself. "
