He teased further and this time she bobbed her head in while leaning in to hug him. He kissed her cheek as she snuggled into his arms more.
Nandini: Everything is right when it is with you, Manik.
She murmured, almost to herself and Manik would have missed it if he wasn't hugging her this close.
Manik: Aap theek ho?
He asked, worry taking over his senses and she broke the hug the next moment. Shaking her head with a small smile, she let her hand trail his cheek, rubbing his two days old stubble making him sigh.
Nandini: Manik, You know you are the best husband.
Manik frowned and stared at her. Her smile widened as she squeezed his hand more and spoke.
Nandini: I know I have already told you this so many times but I can't help it. Y-You are so perfect, Manik. In everything you do, but I- I make mistakes - sometimes too much of them yet you forgive me every time. Yet you don't let me feel like it is my mistake at all. How can you do all this, Manik-
She trailed off in between while Manik simply let her speak. He didn't let a single expression cross his face except for that small smile for he knew, a flicker of emotion on his face, she would go back to her shell again and wouldn't share anything.
And when he said he knew it wasn't okay to hurt her - he meant this. This is what he and his anger has caused. The self-doubt. The self-blame and he despised himself for doing this to her.
Nandini: Manik, Aap meri baat nahi sun rahe ho!
She whined in between bringing Manik out of his trance. He chuckled and kissed her crown before looking at her.
Manik: Continue. Sun raha hu.
He assured but she just shook her head in no.
Manik: Baby?
Nandini: I hate you so much, Manik!
Manik: W-What? Why would you even say that to your extra handsome, charming, and such a darling husband?
He mentally chuckled when she looked at him with wide eyes. Did her saying "I hate you" was funny for him? Only if she knew.
Manik: Okay, I know you hate me and you know what, I love you more. Now com'on, tell me what were you saying?
He asked softly, dropping the plan to tease her as he realized she was in no condition to even understand his joke.
Nandini: I was saying, Let's go for a walk.
She suggested, mentally preparing herself for a scolding but when Manik just smiled patting her head and muttered an okay, her lips curved up in a beautiful smile. She stood up first and held out her hand for him.
It was then Manik's eyes fell on the watch around her wrist. He looked at her amused, but she seemed to have forget about it. Shaking his head with a smile, he chuckled and held her hand to stood up.
She clutched his arm from the side as they walked around the beach. All the while, Manik knew she did this deliberately to change the topic but he let it slide for he knew, she will come around.
