Corrupts can also be triggered by a memory, blood, etc. Whatever counts as traumatizing to the vessel/victim. When this happens their eyes become the corrupted eye.

Also, not all 'demons' are actually demons controlling. Sometimes it can actually wolves, angels, even humans! But they are called demons because demons were the first species to actually learn how to possess somebody's body before any other species.
