Maya then runs out of the fire floor to spot the stairs covered in fire. There's no way she can get past it. She runs back into the fire floor and knocks down a door. She runs in and gets to a window. She shatters the glass and gets ready for a rope rescue. She swings her legs out of the window and drops. Everyone down below notices and there faces fill with worry
"What the hell are you doing Avery!" Boden shouts through the radio
"The stairs are filled with fire! I need to get to Casey!" Maya says
Maya carefully makes the rest of the way down. She kicks the window so she can get through. Everyone lets out a sigh of relief when she gets into the apartment
"Matt call out!" Maya shouts
"In here!" Casey shouts
Maya rushes towards him and she spots him buried under a fallen bookshelf
"I've got no air left!" Casey says as Maya takes off her mask
"Here!" Maya says as she hands him hers
Maya moves the bookshelf and Casey stands up. He gives Maya her air back but Maya refuses. They rush down the stairs and burst out of the door. Maya is coughing like mad. The medics run over
"Take him!" Maya says whilst coughing
The medics take Casey away and Maya let's out a sigh
"Here Captain!" Cruz says handing her a water bottle
"Thanks!" Maya says still coughing
She takes a drink and the coughing starts to ease and the commissioner walks over to her
"Maya Avery is it?" Grissom asks
"Yes sir!" Maya says smiling
"That was pretty good work out there today! Have you ever considered going for the battalion chiefs test?" Grissom asks
"Oh Umm no! It's not really something I've ever thought about!" Maya says smiling
"Well you have my support if you do! It's coming up in a few months!" Grissom says before walking away
Boden then walks over to Maya
"What the hell was that Avery!" Boden shouts for everyone to hear
"Sorry!" Maya replies shocked
"You could have killed your self up there!" Boden shouts
"I was saving one of your firefighters! If Casey had died then it would have looked bad on you!" Maya shouts
"What is Grissom supposed to think! That all of my men are immature?" Boden says angrily
"I just had a chat with Grissom actually! He recommended me to take the battalion chiefs test in a few months!" Maya says before walking away
"Go home Avery!" Boden shouts
"What!" Maya asks shocked
"Go home! Your clearly still shaken by the fire!" Boden shouts with a look in his eye
"Fine!" Maya says grabbing her helmet and throwing it on the floor
