Chapter 38

y/n pov:

I  nodded and left to go pack. I don't pack a lot, I can just buy what I need on our way. When I was done I saw everyone standing at the gate, they all said goodbye but Neji wasn't there

'Neji isn't here' I thought

I felt a bit upset since who knows when I will see him again. We couldn't wait any longer and we said goodbye and started walking away from the village. We were walking when I sensed Neji's chakra nearby. I told the prodigies to go on ahead without me and they nodded. I started walking towards the place where Neji and spent our time together before everything

I got closer I saw Neji standing with his back turned away from me the sun was setting

I walked towards him and stopped beside him ''the sunset looks beautiful today'' I smiled looking at the sun than at Neji ''arent you gonna say goodbye''

he looked at me with an upset expression on his face before he replaced it with an emotionless expression, I hugged him and he wrapped his arms around me

"I will try not to take my time coming back, I Promise'' I smiled in the hug before pulling away

he had a smile on his face ''and I will write to you every day''

I gave him a thumbs up with a big grin, he nodded before hugging me one more time before saying goodbye.

I caught up to the prodigies a few seconds later only to get teased by them, they kept telling me I wanted to go say goodbye to that Neji boyfriend of mine. I mean yeah I went to go say goodbye but he isn't my boyfriend

we then went to the hideout and met sensei there he said we will be fighting in Kusagakure (village hidden in the grass) he didn't explain much since we have done this before, and we explained how things will be working to Akari as we made our way towards the hideout.

when it was nightfall we set up camp and the next morning we left and arrived just after noon. Sensei said we would start fighting tomorrow.

I  took out a piece of paper and wrote to Neji, I summoned fuji and told him to take this to Neji if he wasn't there he should wait and give it to him personally, fuji nodded and then disappeared

the next morning the fighting began, first to fight would be Kenji and Akari, I have no idea what Akari uses if she has a Kekkai Genkai or anything. She beats Kenji and after that, it was Akihiro against Haruki and Akihiro won, sensei said that would be all for today.

The next day it was me against Akari and I won and now it was Akihiro and I and I won again and then Haruki went against Kenji and Haruki won, that night I wrote to Neji telling him I won both my fight today against Akari and Akihiro

the next morning Haruki went up against Akira and Akira won and then later in the day when Akira got some rest she fought Akihiro and Akihiro won

that night we decided to head to a nearby village and rest there. The others went to the hot spring and I stayed behind and told them I would come later. I wrote to Neji telling him the new rankings and told him we would be going to Sunagakure (village hidden in the sand) first, Fuji hasn't returned yet so I assume Neji is out on a mission so I will keep the notes, write the date on them and then send the letters later
