Y/n pov:

''Mayu why would you do that'' I asked as tears ran down my face, not again, this is happening again, someone dying because of me

''what are you doing here, go fight,there is still a threat'' she said softly, I stood up and I could feel myself losing control

I pointed my finger towards him, and some of my tailed beats chakra was leaking out. I didn't completely lose control so only one tail appeared, but one thing is for sure and that is that I am pissed ''you! you will pay! '' I shouted

not just my chakra was leaking but my Jogan activated too, my Jogan only activates when I lose control or see someone I love die, this has happened before but only once

I launched towards him, faster them before and he couldn't keep up. I punched him in the stomach making him fall backward on the floor, I sat on top of him punching him and letting it all out, I was starting to lose consciousness but then felt a hand on my shoulder, but it didn't stop me from punching him.

I felt warm arms wrap around me, causing me to stop and turn around. I saw Neji bending down next to hugging me from behind

my chakra stopped leaking a while ago it was only my Jogan that was activated, Neji looked at me

''his dead stop, you're only hurting yourself now'' he said as he stopped hugging me and put his hand on my cheek. I felt my Jougan deactivate, and tears were forming in my eyes

I stood up and rushed toward Mayu. I fell on my knees beside her, starting to heal her. I didn't have much chakra left that I can use, Neji also stood up and headed towards Shikamaru, they weren't too far from us

''y/n stop'' I heard Mayu say

''no I'll heal you just wait I can do it'' I said crying

''no, you'll die if you continue you know that, you used too much chakra, your Jogan was activated and some of your chakra leaked causing you to have one tail, that's bad you need to stop''

''But it doesn't matter if I die, I deserve it for all the things I have done! '' I shouted, the green light I was shealing Mayu with starting to disappear, So I focused more

''please I don't want you to die!" I cried, Mayu took her hand and placed it on top of mine

''y/n stop'' she said again, and the light faded away. I held Mayu's hand my head resting on her chest

"please don't leave me too'' I cried into her chest

''y/n I chose this, please don't blame yourself after I die. I need you to make me a promise, a promise that you won't blame yourself and also make me a promise you will tell them everything'' she said pointing weakly at Neji them

''and come closer'' she said, I went closer and she whispered something

''when you get feelings for someone confess to them what's the worst that can happen, promise me you will tell that person that you like, you like them okay'' she said, I pulled away and nodded

''thank you y/n for everything'' she said giving me a small smile

''Mayu no please, who is going to make me cake on my birthday and eat it with me, please don't leave me'' I shouted, crying

my eyes were closed because they were burning. I opened them again and saw Mayu's lifeless body, she had a smile on her face, she looked at peace. I let go of her hand I held

I stood up and walked away from Mayu's body I fell to the floor, the pain was too much

''no! why does this always happen'' I screamed as I punched the floor. I was just screaming and crying punching the floor once in a while, my thoughts were blank. I didn't focus what was going on around me, and there it was again, those warm hands on my shoulder

I looked up and saw Neji as he looked down at me before kneeling beside me

''everyone is watching, you don't want them to see you like this do you, how about we meet later at the spot and you can let it all out'' he said in a soft voice, whispering so only I could hear

I wiped away my tears and stood up, I did some hands signs and Fuji appeared

''go tell the others I need to meet with them this is an emergency, and they need to get here as fast as possible'' I told fuji turning to face him then Mayu again, he just nodded and left

it was about 5 minutes, the others didn't say anything but I could see they had a lot to say

I was about to say something when I felt familiar presences nearby, I straighten myself

when they arrived I bowed

''thank you for coming so fast, but there are some things I need to tell you guys and I should probably start by saying, Mayu died during a battle we just fought'' I said trying not to cry again, I looked up and faced them, they were looking around, you could see there was a battle going on

''I want to apologize, Mayu died because of me, she protected me and lost her life doing so'' I said bowing again

I could feel a hand on my shoulder and looked up and saw Kenji

''I am sure Mayu has no regrets and knowing Mayu she even made you promise to her not to blame yourself, am I right'' Kenji said laughing a bit

''so why don't you tell us what happened while we take Mayu back to the hideout, I am sure you know why'' Kenji said taking his hand off my shoulder and turning to face Mayu

I nodded and walked towards her, picked her up and faced Neji

'' I will be back before midnight, please tell Lord Hokage I will explain everything to her tomorrow, and help repair any damage that is done it is partly my fault so I need to help'' I said, looking Neji, I could see he was concerned

''And I will be fine, might have used too much chakra and lost control but I will be fine'' I gave him a small smile

'they will heal me at the hideout' I thought as I turned around walking away as tears slid down my face

I can't believe I let that happen again, after everything Mayu did for me why couldn't I just protect her

I look at everyone around me and I can see they're upset

'I will protect everyone'
