y/n pov

once we were done at the hot springs we went to go get some ramen

''thank you guys for today I haven't had this much fun is forever'' I said giving them a small smile and then putting some ramen in my mouth

''no problem y/n you are fun to be around, tomorrow we have big plans just wait tomorrow will be more fun than today'' Ino said giving me a huge grin

I couldn't help but laugh at their actions ''calm down there is still time we don't have to do everything tomorrow otherwise what are we going to do the other times we spend time together?'' I put down my chopsticks and thanked them for the food

we stood up and paid for the food, it was getting pretty late wit seems that we spend the whole day at the hot springs.

There was one thing bothering me, Neji he was really quiet when we went to go get ramen

Neji, hinata and I said goodbye to everyone

''see you tomorrow make sure to get a good nights rest, tomorrow is going to be a feast" Ino, sakura, and tenten said giving me a hug

''I will make sure to get a goodnight's rest'' i said

Neji, Hinata and I then parted ways with the others and we were walking together since we live close to each other

we were walking in silence, it wasn't awkward. I took a few glances at Neji and he seems bothered by something

Neji pov

it's been on my mind all day, hearing y/n likes someone, it bothers me and I don't know why, if lee didn't interrupt we could have heard who it was

once we arrived at the compound Hinata walked ahead of me

''do you want me to walk you home'' I asked as I turned around to face y/n, she took a few seconds to answer, but then nodded. I turn around and told told Hinata that I will be walking y/n home

we were making small conversation while walking to her apartment, talking about today and what we think will happen tomorrow

''thank you, Neji'' y/n said out of nowhere

I was confused, I tired to figure out why she was thanking me but I couldn't "for what'' I asked walking slower since we were getting close to her door

''for believing in me'' y/n smiled at me and she stopped once we were in front of her door, she hugged me and said goodnight

every time y/n smile, it makes me happy. I never want her to lose that smile of hers

y/n pov:

once I got ready for bed I laid down in bed staring at the ceiling. I was excited about tomorrow, still wondering about what we are going to do

I slowly felt my eyes close and then drifted off to sleep

the next day I woke up I heard screaming and the shouting of things being destroyed. I looked outside my window and saw the village was under attack

'no not know I haven't healed completely yet' I thought as I rushed toward the bathroom I fixed my hair, ran to the closest and grabbed some clothes got dressed as fast as I could and left

I ran as fast as my feet could take me and I stopped once I saw Shikamaru

''Shikamaru what's going on?'' I asked, he was helping some people but turned to look at me

''pain is attacking the village'' he said walking closer to me

'shit' I turned around but Shikamaru grabbed my arm '

"what are you planning on doing'' he asked

''I need to protect the village that's my job'' I said trying to escape his grasp

''y/n you are the only one who can protect us, naruto is training if we lose you who will protect the village'' he asked as he let go of my arm

''I won't die'' I told him as I turned around running. I was running towards a presence that I don't recognize

from what I heard from Shikamaru before the village was attacked the other day, there are 6 pain's, each one has a different ability that's about all I know

once I got closer I prepared myself

''chidori!'' I yelled as I charged toward him, he used his own body to summon mechanized armor and various ballistic and mechanical weaponry

before I came this way I made a shadow clone so while he is focused on me shadow clone will take him out with a chidori, he came toward me focusing only on me

he blocked my chidori and had a smirk on his face. I also smirked making him confused and before he could kill me my shadow clone hit him with the chidori, he fell to the floor and I summoned fuji and told him to heal the people who are hurt

I quickly rushed towards the next chakra that I didn't notice

it felt like I have been fighting for hours and I only defeated 3 pains, the mechanic one, the one who extracts souls, and the one who summons animals

I was heading for the next one when I saw one of the pain clones whatever they call it, in the air, I had an idea what he was doing so I teleported to lady Tsunade

''lady Tsunade he might try to wipe out the whole village now'' I said standing beside her. She just nodded and summoned Lady Katsuya, I put my hand on her back giving her some of my chakra

''here lady Tsunade this should help'' I focused the chakra in my hand and gave it to her, it felt like I was running low on chakra but I couldn't give up

I was right he used something called 'almighty push'

''thank you y/n'' lady Tsunade said catching her breath. I just gave her enough chakra to summon and have enough to fight ''y/n where are you going?'' lady Tsunade asked

''I still need to defeat them'' I said as I teleported to the middle of the village well whats left of it

before me, stood all 6 pain, one walking out of this things mouth, and it hit me then, that thing is used to bring them back to life

'I should have defeated him first' I thought as I got in a fighting stance. I closed my eyes analyzing our strength but was interrupted

''there is no point in doing that, it's obvious I am going to win, you aren't at full strength, if you were I wouldn't be standing here'' one of the pains' said

''you shouldn't have wasted your chakra on these worthless people''

I started to get angry

''Who are you to tell me these people are worthless, these people are part of my family now'' I said looking down

3rd person pov

''what's happening Hinata?'' Sakura asked healing the people around them

''it's y/n, they're about to fight'' she said activating her byakugan ''and it doesn't look good,
y/n is running low on chakra, she hasn't fully healed from her fight a few days ago, and she gave lady Tsunade some chakra to help protect the villagers'' Hinata said observing whats going on

y/n took a deep breath, then charged towards pain, she decided to use mostly taijutsu to build up more chakra

''Just give up it's useless'' he shouted charging towards her, 3 pain were attacking and 3 were observing

''never'' she shouted kicking one of them
