Chapter 9: Selos at Ligawan

"Happy Birthday!" sabay naming sigaw.

Gumising kami ng maaga upang maisalubong kay Kaden ang kaarawan niya. Pasado alas kwatro pa lang. Iyon din ang oras na naisilang siya. Inaantok pa siya nang bumangon at nagkusot ng mata.

"Thanks..." antok niyang sabi.

"Come on, get up!" hila ni Mommy sa kanya.

"Mom, I'm still sleepy."

"Get up, young man. You're gonna miss the beautiful sunrise, come on now."

Humalakhak ako sa kalagayan ng kapatid. Nagpahila naman siya kay Mommy hanggang nakatayo.

"Happy Birthday, Kad." marahan na bati ni Fidai.

Yes, he wanted to be part of the surprise so he got up early too.

Mabilis namulat ang aking kapatid at napatingin kay Fidai. Oh, now he is embarassed. He is starting to look up to Fidai and him in his current laziness makes him think his favorite tutor is disappointed.

"Salamat, Kuya..." nahihiya pa niyang tugon.

I smirked and pinched his right cheek. "Happy birthday, little brother."

"Seventeen na ako, Ate." daing niya pa.

"Jason, blindfold his eyes please." si Mommy.

Dumaing ulit siya. "Mom, stop..."

Wala siya nagawa dahil mabilis ang kilos ng tandem ni Mommy at Jason. Dinala namin si Kaden sa poolside kung saan nakahanda ang kanyang mga regalo at isang cake sa gitna. It is still early so the food will be serve by morning, by lunch and dinner too. And later after dinner, Jason want us to go to the resort's big lounge bar.

The whole deck on the poolside just on the northwing is reserved for us. The warm bulb of lights are visible and glowing surrounding the very place to welcoming the morning sun.

Halos tumakbo si Kaden sa mga regalong nasa ibabaw ng lamesa. There's seventeen of it in there and I smiled widely when he skimmed everything so awake and so happy. May dinisenyo rin sila Jason kasama sa tulong ng crew para sa backdrop na may nakalagay na 17.

"This is the limited edition tesla!" gulantang niyang sabi.

I grinned. "You know who to thank you for that, Kad."

Dumapo ang mata niya kay Fidai. "Really? This is legit, Kuya Fidai?"

"I thought it might be a good gift to add to your collection." nakangiting tugon ni Fidai.

"Maraming salamat, Kuya!"

Fidai chuckled and winked at me. Natawa naman ako sa pasimpleng kindat niya. Kaden again reviewed all the other gifts. Fidai also bought him a basketball which is an self-illuminate light up.

"This is cool. Thank you, Jason." pasasalamat niya.

"You are very welcome, Kaden Magnus Felicano, kapatid ni Aiofe." halakhak niya.

"So exagge, Jason." napailing kong puna.

He bought binocular and math shirts for Kaden. I bought him new headphones naman, it is a bose headphone and a voice control one. Along with a key chain with his engraved nerdy face, his favorite brand bag, a waterproof GoPro, a letter box because two more gifts I have for him is at home. A jar of letters and a new lampshade for his study. Mommy had seven gifts for him.

"Let's take pictures first," singgit ko.

"Oo nga. Teka lang tatawagin ko ang bellboy." si Jason.
