108: The Encounter

The way to the Empire is safe, that's what at least they thought. Hindi madali ang pagbyahe, inabot sila ng ilang araw bago tuluyang nakarating sa Alderby. They have enough goods for their travel, and they are trained enough to hunt in the wilds as well in case they run out of food. It's already dark when they arrived in Alderby and things doesn't seem to be fine. The small city is busier than usual, however it's not your normal busy. People were running everywhere as if an unwelcomed magian has invaded them.

"Shadows!" Bulalas ni Elysian. Nagulat ang lahat nang tumagilid ang karwahe at nayanig sila sa loob. Nawala sa ayos ang kanilang mga gamit at maging sila'y naalog.

"What? What do you mean!" Nalilitong tanong ni Damon. Ilang sandali lamang ay malakas na ihip na hangin ang dumaan sa karwahe at kasabay nito'y ang pagdaan ng isang tila anino sa bubong.

Umalingawngaw ang tinig ni Van. "That's a power of an Abyssal creature! Napapaligiran na tayo! Prepare yourselves, mukhang mapapalaban tayo rito."

Ilang sandali lamang ay lalong bumilis ang karwahe. Mas lalo silang naalog sa loob at walang humpay na tumalon talon kasabay ng walang kontrol na pagtagilid ng kanilang sinasakyan. Kung hindi lang malaki ang karwahe'y nagkaipitan na sila sa loob. The carriage was unstoppable that they had to control their selves inside to not hurt each other.

"Wait, where the heck are we going? Hindi na yata smooth ang dinadaanan natin! Stop the carriage, commander!" Sigaw ni Damien at sumilip sa front window. "I said stop the carriage, what the hell!"

However, what they saw after that triggered them even more. Wala na ang commander sa harap, tumatakbo na lamang ang kabayo sa kung saan na animo'y mayroong ibang nakasakay at kumukontrol rito. Muling tumagilid ang sasakyan at gumulong sila sa loob.

"Holy shit!" Walang humpay na mura ang umaalingawngaw sa loob ng karwahe kada tagilid ng sasakyan. Hindi nila mabuksan ang pinto at hindi nila maintindihan kung bakit.

"Fuck, I can't open the door!" Sigaw ni Damien at malakas itong sinipa.

"What's wrong?" Damon asked in confusion.

"The commander is gone!" Sigaw ni Damien. "And I can't fucking open the door. Something wrong is happening in the city! At sigurado akong hindi na 'to patungo sa sentro, nasa gubat na tayo! For fuck's sake, what are we gonna do now?"

"Brace yourselves!" Van yelled and took out his sword. In a swift movement, he slashed the door open and the carriage stumbled more due to the air forcibly entering their almost devastated carriage.

"What? Van!" Elysian yelled when the Prince tried to jump all of a sudden. "That's a fucking cliff! Mahuhulog tayo sa bangin!"

However, looks like Van has already made his decision. "Get your most important thing and we're going to jump! We have no time. If we want to make it to Mermayde, we have to sacrifice this fucking carriage and go our own way to our destination."

The royals fell silent, wala munang kumibo. Unang-una sa lahat ay maraming gamit ang mawawala lalo na ang mga pagkain nila kung iiwan nila ang karwahe na hindi na nila kontrolado. Someone in the woods or city might have put their carriage under a dark spell. Paniguradong kagagawan na naman ito ng Abyss. They're chasing for the stones as well so they're gonna do everything to interrupt them.

Habang nakatunganga ang lahat ay mahigpit na hinawakan ni Celestial ang kaniyang sandata at tumayo sa pinto. Ang lahat ay napatingin sa kaniya at kabilang na roon si Van na halata mong hindi makapaniwala.

"What the hell are you doing, brat?" Damon asked.

She rolled her eyes and looked at them. "What are you all doing? Your captain has stated his decision and given his command already and yet you're still not jumping like what he told you. What? Are you scared? Oh, you should know better than that."
