"Latest Updates on the weather at our destination will be given as we approach Manila, Philippines." I instantly open the plane window curtain beside me as the announcement aired, the beautiful night lights in Manila met my gaze.
In just a glimpse, I can't believe I'll be living here.
Habang pinagmamasdan ko ang magandang tanawin sa ibaba ay narinig ko ang malalim na paghinga ni Mama kaya humarap ako sa kanya at bakas sa kanyang mukha na nag pipigil pa rin ito sa pagluha.
Hindi pa 'rin ako makapaniwala na may matagal na palang problema sila Mama at Papa, na naging dahilan ng pagkasira ng pamilya namin. Wala akong magawa dahil ako ay bata lamang.
Pero patuloy parin akong umaasa na magkaayos sila Mama at Papa.
Buntong hininga ko muling tinignan ang tanawin at sinubukan tanggapin ang lahat, hanggang sa tuluyan na kaming nakababa ng eroplano at lumabas ng airport ng walang kahit na sinong kakilala.
"Sandali, Sienna," Mama said when I was about to call a taxi, she grabbed her phone out of her bag and dial someone.
I stop and put my bag in front of my legs and play with it by swinging it a bit, and I keep looking around, watching some people hugging their awaited family member.
I also saw a simple Family with two children and Boy and a girl, hugging their Father who just came out of the airport. They just look like our family but the difference was they are happy and complete while we are broken and far from each other.
Agad kong pinunasan ang tumulong luha sa aking mga mata dahil doon at hinarap si Mama na busy sa kanyang cellphone.
"Hello Jiselle, oo nandito kami ng anak ko sa Pinas ngayon...oo kakarating lang namin," Mom is talking to her friend, "Oo wala pa kasi kaming matuluyan ngayon.. Oo sigurado ka ba? Sige anong address ng bahay mo?" tumango-tango si Mama pagkatapos at ng ibaba ang tawag agad niyang binuhat ang mga gamit namin at hinawakan ang aking kamay.
"Mama doko ni iku no? (Mama, where are we going?)" I ask while we are walking crossed the road.
"Sa Tita Jiselle mo doon muna tayo ngayong gabi," She said and called a taxi, I nodded and just kept my mouth shut until we reached Tita Jiselle's house.
Pagkababa namin ng sasakyan agad kaming sinalubong ng isang magandang babae, "Zhi!!! Why so sudden?" She asked and hugged my Mother and signaled his maids to help us with our things.
"You probably know the reason, si Sienna lang ang na sama ko at ayaw iwan ni Kent ang Papa niya," sambit ni Mama na naging dahilan ng pagtingin sa akin ni Tita Jiselle, this is the first time I've seen her and I didn't expect that she would look this young.
"Oh this is Sienna?! You look so beautiful," She said and reached for my hand and pulled me for a hug. "My poor Sienna" she whispered, "Let's go inside I prepare food" she said and pushed us inside their big house filled with glass and expensive plants and decoration outside.
""Feel at home, Sienna.. Later I'll show you your room," Tita Jiselle said.
"Jiselle wala kaming balak magtagal dito hanggang ngayong gabi lang sana at bukas maghahanap na rin ako ng unit or condo para sa aming dalawa," Mama said as we seat on the long elegant dining table.
"No problem, if you want I'll help you to look for a place to stay and while we are still on a hunt you two can stay here," Tita Jiselle is so sweet talker and calm.
