Chapter 23

Nauna kong pinauwi ang  mga maagang pumasok ngayong araw kabilang na doon si Gilda. Kampante ako na hindi niya papasukin ngayon ang office dahil buong araw ay dito lang ako sa loob ng office. Susunduin ako nila Dark. That's what my father said to make sure that I am safe. Dala dala ang folder pumasok ako sa kotse ni Dark sa likod katabi niya at ipinakita ito. No one is there except me, Dark and butler Hercules. Mapagkakatiwalaan naman that's why I am sure na hindi niya kami tatraydorin.

"Is this all?" Tanong niya habang isa isang binubuklat at binabasa ang papeles. 

"Yes." Simpleng sagot ko. Nakasulat sa mga papel ang ibang information about my restaurant.  Some letters of agreement and contracts came from our lawyer na hindi naman sobrang importante pero ako ang pinag rerecieve nila dad 'cause there are so many papers in his office at ma seset aside lang ang letters kung sila ang tatanggap.

"So paano mo papalitan ang mga yan?" I asked him because, to be honest, I only think about how he will change those papers the whole day.

"Pwedeng ibahin natin ang sinasabi sa sulat ng lawyer niyo." Sagot niya ng may kunot sa noo. "Pwedeng palabasin natin na we are filing a case of murder against her. After all, she killed my father."

"Paano kung matrigger sila na mas paagahin ang planong pag ganti nila sa amin?" Tanong ko.

"She can't do that. But I'm sure she will hide to the authorities." He looked at me at inakbayan ako.

"I'm still scared of what they can do."  I sighed. 

"Don't be. Sa ating lahat they should be the one to be scared of what we can do." Hinimas niya ang buhok ko at nginitian ako. "We'll talk about that later in the treehouse"

Pagkarating sa bahay Nida is waiting in our front door. May dala dalang tsinelas pambahay. Pinagbuksan kami ni butler at naunang bumaba si Dark para alalayan akong bumaba. Nida immediately runs toward our direction, actually kay Dark lang para ilapag sa sahig ang dala dalang tsinelas. Nagtataka kaming napatingin sa kanya.

"Sir tsinelas po." Mahinang sabi ni Nida habang namumula ang pisnge at nakayuko. 

Nangunot ang noo ko. May gusto ata kay Dark ang isang to. "Thank you, but I still have my shoes on. I'll wear them inside." Sabi ni Dark at nahihiyang kinuha ang tsinelas bago bumalik sa dating pwesto. 

Dark seems to be not bothered about what happened but not me. I can sense something na hindi ko magugustuhan kaya tinaasan ko ng kilay si Nida nang dumaan kami sa harap niya.

It's not that minamaliit ko siya, but she should know her place. I mean, Dark is courting me so back off.

"Yuan. Where's mom and dad?" I ask my brother when I saw him eating alone at the dining table.

"Oh, dad texted me that they will go home late because they will have a date." Yuan shrugged at pinag patuloy ang pag kain.

Umupo kami ni Dark sa mag kabilang gilid niya and the maid start serving us.

"Oh? You should come with us after dinner." Dark invited him.

"Where? I'll be the third wheel on your date? No thanks."

"It's not a date Yuan. We are going to a bar. To chill." I look at his eyes para makuha niya ang gusto naming iparating.

Uminom siya ng tubig at marahang tumango. "Sige." He stood up and leave to go to his room.

Dark and I didn't talk during our meal. It's not that we have nothing to talk about, it just that we can't talk about it here in our house. Isn't it funny how we're not comfortable at our own house? This is supposedly our safe place but because of what is happening now, kami pa ang kailangan mag adjusts para lang makapag usap usap. Hindi ko maiwasan maipakita sa ang pait dahil sa naisip ko.  I want this to be over.
