February 14th, chocolate, flowers, and lovey dovey couples. That's how Ivy at least had always viewed the holiday, she never understood why you needed a day to tell someone how much you love them.

Even though wizards didn't celebrate everything muggles do, Valentine's Day was one of those holidays celebrated by both.

Ivy despised it, she would lock herself away for the day until all the frilly pink hearts and glitter disappeared. She was glad Sirius was on the same page, as he only ever used Valentines day in the past to flirt with some dumb blonde.

Yet today Sirius had something else in mind as he began getting ready at 5am for the surprise he had waiting for his daughter. He was going to turn the ridiculous holiday into a special day for his loved one, his daughter.

Ivy was shocked to have woken up at 2pm. For the first time in the 4 months since Scarlett was born, she slept in. What was concerning however was realizing her fiancé and daughter were no longer in the room.

Panic began to set in as the worst thoughts crossed her mind. She couldn't help but think the worst of the worst when it came to worrying about her small family.

Then just as she was about to race out and kill someone, the portrait swung open revealing a smiling Sirius and a giggling Scarlett.

"Where the hell have you been?" Ivy questioned going over to grab her daughter.

"We went out" Sirius responded casually going over to the chair and sitting down.

"Could've let me know" Ivy mumbled, bouncing Scarlett in her left leg. She couldn't help but notice how over the brown smear on the corner of her daughters lip, chocolate.

"You gave her chocolate?" Ivy accused more than questioned. Knowing Scarlett wasn't old enough to eat chocolate yet.

"I know she's not supposed to have it but... youknowhowshelikesavocado and
shealreadyunderstandsthewordavocado and I was reading desserts and there was chocolate avocado mousse" Sirius explained through slightly jumbled sentences.

Ivy just rolled her eyes and laughed, she knew a little bit wasn't going to hurt her and she knew Sirius only did it to make their daughter happy. At the end of the day wasn't that their job to keep their daughter happy.

"So you took her on a Valentines date and not me?" Ivy pouted teasingly.

"We don't do Valentines"

"I know I'm joking, so why celebrate it?"

"Valentines day is a day for loved ones. Doesn't necessarily have to be couples, it could be a day to appreciate family as well" Sirius explained. Although it didn't sound like his usual self, to Ivy this was him. He dropped the cocky playboy act whenever he was with her, and over time she's seen he barely acts like it anymore. Sirius surprisingly had matured.
