A writing group is a group of people (usually about 5, but some groups are bigger or smaller) who meet regularly to read, discuss and critique each other's work. People in a writing group offer each other constructive feedback to help one another grow and develop their writing skills.
Usually, group members are similar in skill (level and/or rank) and favour the same genres. This makes the experience easier and more fun for everyone.
Such writing groups don't necessarily have to come together in real life. You could also meet online, for example on discord. That way you can live on the other side of the world and still meet, discuss and critique each other's work!
