Below you will find all the tasks of the Learning pathway, divided by level of difficulty.

There is lots and lots of information up for grabs on the internet on creative writing. Most of it is actually really useful and can help you understand things you didn't know or realise before. It's really easy to find too; just Google a topic (such as "characterization in creative writing" or "how to plot a novel") and you'll be bombarded with a ton of info.

Very easy – 1 XP:

Easy – 2 XP:

- Read a magazine on or off wattpad, specifically the educational piece about creative writing (tip: Aspire Magazine on Wattpad is a great one)

- Look up an article on editing

- Look up an article on characterization

- Look up an article on plot development

- Look up an article on world building

- Look up an article on dialogue

- Look up an article on pacing

- Look up an article on descriptions

- Look up an article on writing style and voice

- Look up an article on writing titles

- Look up an article on blurbs

- Look up an article on loglines

- Look up an article on movie analysis

- Read a blog post on any other creative writing topic (tip: reedsy and nownovel are very good)


Medium – 5 XP:

- Watch a video on creative writing (tip: the lectures by Brandon Sanderson are very good)

- Watch a video on a topic you're not very good at yet (like editing, or character development)

- Listen to (one episode of) a podcast on creative writing

- Look up a video or podcast on editing

- Look up a video or podcast on characterization

- Look up a video or podcast on plot development

- Look up a video or podcast on world building

- Look up a video or podcast on dialogue

- Look up a video or podcast on pacing

- Look up a video or podcast on descriptions

- Look up a video or podcast on writing style and voice

Hard – 10 XP:

- Follow an entire course on the subject of creative writing (either paid like masterclass or free like MOOCs*)

- Read a book on creative writing

Legendary – 50 XP:

*MOOC stands for Massive Open Online Course. There are many of these online for free. Most are science-topics, but every now and then you can find an interesting one about writing.
