Isla's P.O.V

"Would you rather eat everyone that you know's toenails or never eat your favourite food again?" I asked and steal a chip off of Jay who glares at me. I looked around and everyone is staring at me with amused faces making me confused. This isn't a time to be amused, this is serious.

"Well?" I ask causing Maddie to laugh which made everyone else laugh and shake their heads at me. Okay, rude.

"Probably just never have my favourite food again." Jay said and shrugs before moving their food away from me making me gasp. Why is everyone so rude today?

Everyone seemed to agree with them making me pout and cross my arms. They never take my questions seriously.

Joe must have noticed me sulk because she asks me what I'd do and that's how we spent the remainder of lunch; me ranting about how eating the toenails is the answer. I just could never give up a roast dinner, come at me. The mashed potatoes, chicken, yorkshire puddings, gravy. Great, now I'm hungry again. Stupid brain.

Ash's P.O.V

This school has the weirdest people. I was walking past a table and overheard someone ranting about eating toenails or something. When I looked to who it was I saw Isla ranting animately. Always knew she was a freak.

I walk over to my table where I removed the other chairs so no one would sit with me and placed my tray down before sitting.

I sat on my phone the whole time while eating and was texting the group chat. Ace was on a tangent on how Sasha fucked up the last delivery when in reality it was him. Ruby was defending her while Via just told us to have a meeting at the main base tonight.

The bell went making me roll my eyes and put my tray away. Walking to my next period I noticed Isla and her group of friends in front of me. Isla was walking slower than the rest of them before they all parted ways, to their different classes I'm guessing. Seems like she has maths like me as she turned into the same corridor. She goes to walk into the class next to mines but hesitates, before taking a deep breath and walking in slowly. Shrugging I carry on until I reached my class.

"Ace! Stop passing blame and take responsibility for once in your fucking life!" Via screamed as they slammed their hands onto the table. I just sat back and watched as Ace, once again, blamed Sasha. Not the first time.

"Sorry." He mumbled, backing down. Eventually.

I chuckled quietly because I knew he hates apologising. He must've heard me as he looked at me and glared. I just stuck my tongue out at him.

"Mistakes happen all the time, you need to learn to take responsibility and own up. Via always finds out the truth and you know that. She wouldn't be half as angry as she is now if you never lied. You know how we feel about liars, A. Next time just explain to us what happened so we can fix it. You guys are the most trusted members. Youse are like our family, so never feel scared to talk to us." Ruby said as she placed a hand on Via's shoulder, making them both sit back down.

This is why I loved this gang. I used to be in a really bad place and was took in by even worse people. Via saw me and took me in, treating me like a daughter. Saving me.

The Poison Thorne's was passed down to Via from her father and she made sure to change it's ways and use it to help people. We of course still do illegal shit such as being involved with drugs, trafficking guns etc. but we never kill innocent people nor do we get involved in human trafficking unless it's taking down people that are. We mostly take in people in need of help if they are trustworthy enough. People like me.

We have a lot of members but we have a closer inner circle that are Via's most trusted. The people in their inner circle include me, Sasha, Ace, Alison and Ruby. Ruby and Via have been married for three years now and are like parent figures to us. I'm the youngest but certainly don't act like it, unlike someone. Not naming names... but Ace.

Via looks at Ruby fondly before kissing her cheek and begins to tell us our orders. I have to pick up a shipment with Alice and Ace in an hour. Great. "Can't I just go myself? These two are really annoying." I asked rolling my eyes causing Ruby and Sasha to laugh, Ace to kick me under the table and Alice to pout.

"I know you can but Alice needs to get used to taking inventory and Ace is annoying me and I want a break from him." Via replied, pulling Ruby onto her lap.

"Is it bully Ace day today or something? Leave me alone!" He exclaims and huffs, folding his arms and looking mad. We laugh at him and Sasha jumps on him causing them to fall to the ground making us laugh harder. As much as they annoy me I guess I like them. But only a little.
