08. Tough tension

In the time that Kyle was having his flashback on his life Yokoi had tried to get the creature off him but once it realised what it was attack it got off Kyle the creature walked back from them as Kyle coughed taking deep breaths Yokoi helped him up from the ground as Yokoi pass Kyle a water canteen taking a sip Kyle looked at the creature as it looked at the two Kyle couldn't tell if it was mad or sorry but he did know one thing he didn't want to go near it Kyle pulled out his knife and the creature reacted but all Kyle did was cut a bit of his shirt off so he could soak it and dab his throat

Placing the knife down he sat down on a log angry with the creature but also with himself for allowing that to happen to him feeling like he failed his own test that he failed to look after a few people that he wasn't worthy to be in the military Yokoi soon sat with Kyle on the log while the creature looked at them suspicious of what they could be doing before he sat on a log opposite of them the creature opened it's mouth with a few clicks the two looked at it unsure what it was doing as it continued to make clicking noises

Yokoi: um do you think it's trying to communicate with us Kyle: you know I wouldn't be surprised if it's way of communication was by trying to kill someone Yokoi: do you think this one was the one to set those traps you set off and possibly killed my friends Kyle: I don't know anymore and I don't care

Yokoi looked at Kyle oddly as the creature tried to communicate he stopped after a while the three looked at each other for a while before they heard a scree that sounded inhuman as soon as the creature heard the noise it looked at the two and jumped away from branch to branch now having seen that Kyle knew it definitely jumped leaving the two alone Kyle looked back down having a stick to draw things on the ground

Yokoi: so what happened Kyle: what do you mean Yokoi: I mean a few hours ago you were all determined to keep everyone safe to keep them alive and now it's like your depressed like you were hit with a ray so what's wrong Kyle: I... just have had a bad two years Yokoi: what do you mean Kyle: I got blamed for a few things in the military after someone betrayed the team it just all went downhill from there I was shot and a small part of it hit my spine and I had to rework to have my body work like it did before I had spent seven months trying but still it was like I was being thrown in the dirt the place I was at was attacked and I tried to help they tried to blame me for them attacking it didn't stick

Yokoi: they treated you horribly Kyle: I came on this trip thinking I just needed some time away from the military and to test my body but even that has turned out horribly it seems that everywhere I go trouble follows so many have died because of me not being able to do something so simple Yokoi: hey this wasn't your fault neither was that attack you know what was and wasn't your fault Kyle: I know but the world hasn't said anything about the war that's going on Yokoi: what do you mean Kyle: the planet has been at war for about twenty years now they hid it quite well though doing most of the battles in unpopulated areas as the other side wants to be hidden till they need to show themselves

Yokoi: so you have been fighting for a while then Kyle: I have since I finished my training Yokoi: that's a long time about ten years Kyle: twelve years actually it's been a lot on any of the military members

Yokoi frowned thinking about what his friends had been through getting up he was yanked Kyle got up and ran after Yokoi trying to catch up but failed Kyle dropped to his knee and wanted to cry so badly
