"Wait...is this icing sugar or baking powder?", I tasted the white coloured dusty material on my fingertips. "Eww...it's baking powder! Or maybe baking soda!"

I slid the cake tin inside the oven, "it's time to grow up."

Till the time my cake got cooked, I went outside check if all the other arrangements are done outside or not.

"Marvellous," my eyes were still hanging in the air after seeing the work done by decorators.

The whole living and dining area was filled with pink and purple colour balloons. On the floor, on the ceiling, balloons floated. Smell of chocolate and rose petals filled my nostrils as I took a longer sniff.

I checked all the dishes on the table and all the dishes were ready. I just hoped I don't get caught as all the food were ordered from restaurants and zero effort was involved.

"She won't find out unless she discovers my empty wallet," I smiled and went to open the door when I heard a ring.

"Aww...thank you so much for delivering it at this hour. I hope it didn't cause any trouble," I thanked the delivery boys who brought the gift I ordered on time.

"It's our job," he handed it over. "Take good care of it. It's sleeping right now so it won't make any noise, just as you planned."

"Please keep it that side. I am a little scared of them," I laughed nervously as they followed my orders. "Once again thank you so much for your help."

I heard her bedroom door unlocking and a ran infront of her gate with a party popper.

"Happy mother's day!", I shot and all the glitters, ribbons and colourful paper pieces started falling like crystals on her head.

She got startled at first, "what's this?"

"Surprise!", I shouted. "Won't you give a big tight hug to your one and only daughter?"

"Hahaha....don't squeeze me thought," she rubbed her sleepy eyes and hugged me like a teddy bear. "What's all this for?"

"Mother's Day!"

"Since when did we started celebrating mother's day in winter?", she grinned as I led her to the dining table and pulled a seat for her. "Thank you."

"I couldn't control myself from thanking you. And everyday is mother's day when your lovely mom is by your side."

"Ahem! Ahem! Speak lies according to the level I can control. No need of vomiting fictions," she started checking all the bowls after losing herself to the aroma of 'home made food', "which restaurant?"

"Huh?"

"I am sure my daughter was never so talented with the kitchen stuff," she laughed and kissed my forehead. "Thank you so much."

"There's no need to thank me. Instead, I should be the one to thank you for bearing my tantrums all this time without any complaints," my fingers started fiddling. "I am sorry mom. Sorry for everything misbehaviour. Sorry for creating a lot of imagines in my head. Sorry for thinking bad for you. Sorry for treating you like shit. Sorry for--"

"Argh! Stop bullet train! Will you shoot all your request for forgiveness today itself?", a huge smile got plastered on her face which looked so beautiful for the first time in my eyes. "A mom can never get fed up of her kids. And how can I stay angry with my one and only lovely daughter?"

We heard the oven making a sound.

"I will check it," I excused myself and ran inside, hoping that I didn't burn my cake.
