Chapter 12: Threats

(Kate's POV)

"Oh okay I got this!"

I am recording parkour with Mitch but i terrible and can't even make the first jump, I think he is dying of laughter.

"REALLY!"

"Kate it's okay it's just a 2 block jump calm down!" he says lapping me for like the 2nd time.

"How do you even do this? Do you just wanna play a Lucky Block pvp thing?" I say turning off the recoding software.

"Yeah sure" he says readjusting himself more comfortably.

I log on and make sure every thing is working.

I lean back in my chair and run my fingers through my hair, I don't know why. Girls just do that sometimes, don't ask me.

"So, you heard about Preston's party?"

I get a text while in the midst of my sentence

-You know what you did- unknown number

F**k who's that?

"Yeah!" he sits up slowly from his computer chair

"Are you going?" I ask him kind of looking at the text thoroughly. Who was this?!?!

I don't really hear a respond so I look at the computer but he's not on.

I get a message and check it.

"Window"

I open my curtains and then there he is standing with a sign that says "Party?" on it

Phh "Is this like that Taylor Swift video where I have to hold up a sign that says sorry studying?" I say giving him the cheesiest face I've probably ever made.

"Nope, no need for that"

"Okay, I'll be glad to go with you"

We didn't have much to do those next couple days.

They just wasted away like any other boring days, you only remember those days if something bad, life changing, or amazing happens.

It was pretty normal, just recoding, decorating, cleaning, food, repeat.

Mitch and I aren't really "boyfriend and girlfriend" yet but we are close.

When some one breaks your heart it's like they take a part of you with them.

Sometimes you miss that part and there's only one thing it can be filled with.

For me I thought that was some one new.

I wasn't exactly right but I'm still figuring that out, we were young we made mistakes, sometimes these can change your life by one single act.

"Hey Kate? Wanna go get our hair done today, I found a new place down the street."

"Yeah, my hair is really fading out. When can we go?"

Yeah. We get to a new salon that opened up in town but I haven't been there so I don't really know what to expect.

"So," I step out of the car and head to the door with Allie, Kynley, and Kimberly.

"what color are you-"

Emma.

How is this girl every where and no where, every single time, every single day? (Kynley this was for you😂)

I run back outside and go to the car.

They all look back at me as if I was a lunatic.

"You okay?" Allie says jogging over to where I was huddled up with my arms around myself by the car.

"No, no I can't go there, it's Emma, she's out to get me" I started freaking out

"TAKE ME HOME" I slid down the edge of the car, I start sobbing.

It was like she was slowly tearing me apart without even knowing it.

It is like she is taking over my life, I can't go through this again.

"Are you okay?"

I stay frozen on my bed as Mitch walks in.

"No. You want a truthful answer, no I can't do this any more."

"Do what any more?"

"Life worrying, I have to worry about her all the time and that's not how life is supposed to be, you are supposed to have troubles but you aren't supposed to have so much that you worry about life all together."

"Kate, she is trying to get to your head, she wants revenge because you have some thing she doesn't..."

I feel a tear fall down my face.

"What's that?"

"Love,"

He walks over to me where I am lying on my bed and kisses me passionately.

"She has no one that can love her. Emma pushes every one away. You on the other hand let people in, you let love take over, better yet....you make loving some one so much better."

I hug him so much because Mitch just makes me feel something inside.

I love it.

"Can't wait to take you, the most beautiful, kind, smart, talented, girl I know to the party tommorow."

"Yeah thank you" I say, maybe this won't be so bad.

Yeah there's still Emma, but there's also still Mitch.
