Emily stopped on her tracks, a strange glee passing her gaze when Scar's eyes met hers. She almost looked like a sulking toddler that had been told off. 'Emily?' The moment passed as quickly as it came. 'Have you reached out to Seb?' Scar furrowed her eyebrows, eyes wide before she shook her head in defeat. 'No. I'm not planning on speaking to him if I can help it. C'mon, I need to be in a media corner in a moment when the drivers' come through and sort out the pending interviews.'

Scar was about to continue, but she spotted the person they had been speaking about. 'I'll head out now. See you later, Emily.' Scar made a sharp turn on her feet, waiving briefly to stunned Emily.

She sighed with relief when she disappeared to the human ocean. She wasn't ready to face him yet. She needed more time to sort out her thoughts and feelings even though she had poured them out to Emily during their hiking trip. She couldn't afford to be spontaneous and living at present. She wanted to keep her job as she happened to enjoy it quite a bit.

She had managed to avoid Seb the whole weekend as she had endlessly volunteered to be away in places where the drivers went. Graham had raised his eyebrows once or twice when she had sprinted off to hide to her next task. Even Emily had found her next level avoidance extra, even for her. Once the interviews were finalised, Scar had felt relieved when she had enjoyed a quiet moment in the hospitality sector, which was short-lived.

Britta had entered the hospitality, looking regretful and timid. Then Scar knew Seb wanted to speak to her, and she didn't have a way out of it anymore. It had been over a month since Monaco. She felt she had said everything there's to say in Monaco. In reality, she was ashamed of her outburst. Her pride prevented her from crawling back to him and apologising, so it was easier to avoid him. She also loved him. Her conscious reminded her sneakily, but she pushed it aside when other thoughts flooded in. She had put a foot wrong at her work, and she was carrying the consequences now. Talk about a sour spot in terms of professional integrity that she valued above all. She couldn't mess up anymore as she had used her second chance.

Britta threw a hesitant smile to her face when their eyes locked. 'Would you have a minute?' She looked apologetic, yet Scar shrugged. Scar knew why Britta was there, and Scar understood the glooming conversation had to be done sooner than later anyway. 'Always for you.' She said assuringly before she gathered her items and followed the German out of the building towards Ferrari's garage. They talked sweet nothings to each other, catching up on how the race had gone during her absence from the paddock, Britta asking a ton of questions of her time back in London.

When they reached the dedicated room, Britta knocked on the door. Scar heard a faint 'Come in' inside the room, and Britta turned on her feet to leave. 'I'll see you later?' She implied for the ladies night, she, Scar and Emily had agreed to celebrate Scar short-lived absence from the paddock. 'Of course.' Scar nodded, squeezed Britta shoulder before she pressed the handle down to enter the room.

A strong deja vu feeling entered in her when the door slammed shut behind her. Back in Bahrain again. Seb was sitting on his massage table, his hands pressed against each other, pout playing on his features. His eyes moved to meet hers, swimming in vulnerability and uncertainty when they scanned her features. She knew she looked tired. She hadn't been able to sleep well in recent weeks due to the distress. However, seeing him, she felt the tightness easing out on her chest, and stress was slowly leaving.

He got up, reached for her hand to pull both of them back to the table where he had sat, and she stepped in-between his legs. He wrapped his arms around her, pushing her body closer to his and rested his head against her upper stomach. If she had been alert when she stepped into the room, she relaxed under his touch, and her hand ruffled his hair affectionately, a slight smile forming on her lips. She had missed him. 'You alright?' She asked quietly after the silence had dragged on, hoping he would share his thoughts.

He lifted his deep blue orbs to hers, inviting her to explore the emotions swimming in them. He shook his head silently. 'How have you been?' She raised her eyebrows when he chose to dodge her question. 'Never better.' She murmured automatically. She saw his huff, and he slowly let go of her.

She instantly craved his touch, but she took a step backwards to give him the required space. Her eyes landed on her hands that played at the edge of her shirt. 'I'm sorry about your race in Canada... The stewardess' call was unfair.' She reflected on a race in Canada a couple of weeks ago. He got a penalty, causing him to lose his podium finish. 'Deja vu from a couple of years ago.' He shrugged, looking uninterested, but she knew better than that. He had been pissed off after the race. She had learned to read his facial expressions enough to realise he had been devastated when she had followed the race from the comfort of her home.

'I'm more interested to know how you have been whilst we didn't see each other.' His piercing eyes scanned hers, and she felt the familiar rush running through her body. She waved her hand against her face. 'Ergh -'

What could she say? That she had been drinking alone in her flat, downing her feelings towards him and feeling sorry for herself? Or spending hours listening to Emily's lectures of her inability to address her feelings healthy way? Or better yet, sit glued to her desk at work, coming up with weak excuses why she should request desk duty work instead of attending the races? 'The usual.' She shrugged. 'Work, hanging out with people, exercising...' She trailed off, and she wanted to facepalm herself of her vague response—way to go, Scar.

He stared at her in disbelief, and she didn't blame him for it. She also cringed internally. 'That's it?'

'Ergh-'

'Come on, Scar.' He groaned, his hands sliding through his hair. 'We haven't seen in weeks, and you don't have anything to say. Would it kill you to admit that you missed me? I surely did.'

There it was again. Seb's words created a warm and fuzzy feeling in her, and her heart singing happily against her cribs. Scar's features softened after his tantrum. 'I missed you.' She murmured, a ghost smile curling up her lips. 'But there's no point as we can't be together as long as I work at the F2, and -'

'Dammit, Scar!' She lifted her wide eyes to meet Seb's that was stormy, dark and intense. 'For a moment, can you forget what others think, what we can't and shouldn't do?' His words raised goosebumps on her skin. Oh dear, don't say - 'I have never had a moment of doubt since we met again in Monza. You sneaked up on me. I was guardless, and you pushed through all the barriers. You compelled me and challenged me. You became my sunshine on a warm spring day after a long winter. My reason to breathe. I fell in love with you.'

Her ears rang when she stared at him with Bambi eyes, speechless of his words. 'I, erh, I, uh-' She attempted to say something, but her mind was a blank canvas. He loved her. Those words were on repeat in her mind.

Seb laced their fingers together and tugged her closer to him when she was withdrawing from the situation.

'Scar.' Seb called her a couple of times before he captured her wild eyes. 'Breathe, Scar.' Her breathing was unsteady, and her senses were enhanced when his deep pupils caught hers. They gazed at her, inviting her to trust him and accept his feelings. What about Emerson? Her breath hitched to her throat when the suppressed emotions of her from her divorce bubbled up. The overwhelming feeling crept in her, and she inhaled sharply when she realised she was crying. She never cried. This guy made her cry.

Before she had a chance to freak out more, she was embraced by him. She snuggled closer to him as humanly possible, tugging her head in the in-between his shoulder and neck. 'Shh, all good, love.' His touch calmed her down and cracked something in her that made her scared. She wasn't sure if she was able to block her feelings any longer.

She stepped out of his embrace again, keeping their hand interlinked. She took a shaky breath before lifting her tearful eyes to his. 'You're all I need, Seb. Nothing more, nothing less.' She wasn't able to say up the three words he probably wanted to hear from her, but her veil had dropped before her as soon as she had pushed the truth past her lips. She lifted her lips to capture his, hoping she could pour her feelings into the kiss and reassure him that she loved him. He completed her.
