'Scar?' Emily stepped into a dark room, and she faintly saw a figure sitting on a bed, staring out of the window, overlooking the dusk that settling on a sky. She approached her cautiously, sitting beside her, eyes locked on her friend. The setting sun graced enough light into the room for Emily to see her friend's face, making her gasp. 'Oh, Scar...' She murmured and reached out to squeeze her hand on Scar's lap.

The silent tears ran down Scar's face, drops landing against their palms. Not Scar would have noticed that. Her hands were ice colds, and Emily noticed that her friend was shaking. 'Are you cold?' Scar shook her head, still not making eye contact. Then Emily heard Scar's stomach growl. 'Shall I get you something to eat?' Emily murmured and kissed Scar's temple before exiting the room without her answer.

'How is she?' Seb asked when Emily entered the kitchen, making her sigh. 'I have never seen her like that... She's crying. I have never seen her cry. Not when her mother died, or when she divorced... ever. It's like this broke something in her, and she can't find her way out.' Emily looked clueless and worried to sick. 'Emily, it's been a month since their passing. She will come around. We need to give her space to mourn her loss.'

'Space?' Emily huffed when she reached for a plate to make a sandwich. 'We have given her space. She doesn't eat. She barely sleeps. Aren't you worried?' Emily's scared and hunted eyes stared down at Seb's. 'I think we have given her enough space.' Emily commented darkly, putting a tad too much force into her cutting. Emily rested her hand hands against the kitchen, breathing in deeply. 'She'll end up in a hospital soon if she doesn't choose to take care of herself... Would you mind giving another shot?' Emily's hopeful and wide eyes stared at him. 'I don't know -' Seb stammered. 'Seb -'

'You also know she has shut me out since the funeral, and -'

'Seb, I wouldn't ask you to do this unless I knew another way.' The desperation in Emily's voice made him nod in defeat, and he grabbed the prepared sandwich. 'Okay, but I won't make any promises.'

After Emily's departure, Scar had shut her eyes to make a weak attempt to hold the tears flowing down freely. She was drained, and she felt she didn't have more tears left to weep. Her breathing was shallow when she tried to calm her down. The air didn't flow down. Instead, it got stuck in her throat. She was constantly gasping for air like she was underwater. Still, in this case, the water was an alien and unfamiliar and dangerous, a complete opposite of her safe haven and escape.

She squeezed her eyes tighter, hoping the sleep would overtake the exhaustion. She wanted to rest, but she couldn't as the anguish pushed through to her dreams, and she would wake up sobbing the moment she would fall asleep. She couldn't understand Emerson was gone. She refused to believe he was gone. The person she had been with third of her life was gone. Puh, and he was gone, in a blink of an eye. She squeezed her eyes tighter again when the tears threatened to pour drown again. Please. 'Liebe?'

She turned around to see a shadowy figure standing by the threshold. 'Can I come in?' She blinked a couple of times to view better through her teary gaze. She was confused as she imagined hearing Seb's voice in the room. She was probably hallucinating from hunger. He was supposed to be in some random sponsor event in Vienna. She hadn't spoken a word to him since Emerson's funeral. The next day, she had called in sick and found a nurse to Alex, and that's it. Then she had locked down within four walls, curled up under her blanket. The veil had landed before her to protect her from the world. That was two weeks ago.

'Su-sure.' He ambled further in until he entered into the streaming light from the window, and her forehead furrowed deeper. She wasn't sure if she was fantasising. 'Seb?' She asked with a shaky voice when she felt his arms wrapped around her. 'Oh, Seb', She sobbed and clang on to him as her life depended on having him hugging her. 'I'm here, Liebe. I'm here.' His words reassured her she wasn't entirely alone, but she felt very guilty for ignoring him for weeks, and Bob's words ran in her ears about not pushing Seb away. This made her heartache deeper, and her sobs grew uncontrollable.
