• Part 12 - Dancing in the rain •

"LYD SHUT IT! I don't have an upset stomach!"

"Okayyy, I believe you...."

"Anyways c'mon!"

Me and Draco sprinted down the steps as quiet as possible and entered the empty common room.

"So...what's your plan on getting out..."

"That's the thing...we aren't going outside..."

"H-huh?"

"Yeah well...just follow me!"

"O-okay!"

I stared at him a bit until I got some courage and grabbed his hand.

I then began running with Draco through the halls...through hidden little passages...with only the light at the tip of my wand...

We reached a set of doors...locked doors...

"Shoot...what's that spell again?...."

"What spell?"

"That's it! I read about it! Alohomora"

And with that the little key hole clicked and the door began to slowly open.

Behind the door revealed massive stairs which seemed to be going up forever.

"L-Lyd are you sure you know where we are going? Maybe we should turn back..."

Suddenly we heard footsteps approaching quickly.

I pushed myself and Draco through the door and locked it behind us,

"Colloportus...I guess we go up from here...I mean there's no going back now...at least not for a while..."

I given Draco a reassuring smile and led us both up the stairs.

I was panting uncontrollably once we had reached the top...

We saw another door here...it was a bit taller and wider this point though...

"Alohomora"

It clicked open and revealed...

The astronomy tower! Of course! It's perfect!

V really was a genius sometimes...

"W-wow Lyd this place is awesome!"

"Right! I've never been here before!"

"Then how did you-"

"V...he's making sure I stop getting in trouble...he said that we won't get caught here..."

"Great!"

I heard a pitter patter come from my left...

Rain.

It was raining heavily and we could see it all...

Including the most beautiful views...

And the stars were...wicked.

I leaned up to the banister...

"Draco, come here"

I felt him lean next to me.

"Wow Lydia...this is gorgeous"

You're gorgeous...heh...he...hehhhh.

Thank merlin that was in my head...

"It is..."

"You were right...this is amazing..."

Draco then began to move around...

I turned to look at him.

He held out his hand,

"May I have a dance M'lady?"

I blushed.

I gave him my hand and then he swiftly grabbed my waist...

I never had danced like this so I'd probably be terrible...but I'd watched enough of Delilah attempting to ballroom and salsa in the living room to understand enough...

I placed my hands over his shoulders and he began to spin me around.

We both laughed and smiled until it hurt.

He lifted me up and threw me around like I was a feather.

We both couldn't stop laughing.

This was the best Fun I'd had in my whole entire life.

Draco's smile was pearly white...I just couldn't take my eyes off him.

The rain was so heavy and loud that we didn't even need music.

We both plopped down, laughing till we couldn't breathe.

"I do feel free!"

"I know!"

We laid next to each other...staring deep into one another's eyes.

In that moment it was Draco, it was me, it was the silence underneath the stars that understood my heartbeat and it's racing. You told me nothing and I believed everything.

In that moment I found life.

In that moment...I found you.

Until my eyes became heavy...and shut.
