Remus and Rosaleé had left Harry and Viola on their own as they went food shopping for Mrs Weasley. It was their last day at the cottage before they had to go to Grimmauld place for Christmas morning.
"Come on Harry. Hurry up, we don't have all day" Viola whined from across the table as Harry ate his breakfast.
"Why? What have we got to do?"
"My Christmas tradition. I usually do it on Christmas morning but we'll be at Grimmauld so we might as well do it today"
"What is it?"
"That's a secret until it's not" She smiled mysteriously
Harry shook his head laughing before finishing his breakfast.
"Grab your swimming things by the way!" Viola shouted from the top of the stairs making Harry frown. It was freezing outside and there was snow on the ground.
The pair met in the kitchen by the door and Viola ushered him outside.
"Come on" she said waving him to follow her down a beaten track.
The track twisted and winded for some way and Harry was becoming increasingly paranoid that Viola had lured him out of the cottage to kill him.
"You okay?" Viola asked looking at his troubled face
"Oh, yeah. Brilliant" Harry replied
"I can tell when you're lying. You're not slick. So what's up? I don't want you ruining my day"
"I just don't want to intrude on the Weasley family. You know with everything that happened with Mr Weasley?"
"Harry... you do know that attack wasn't your fault. It really had nothing to do with you"
"I know it's just I feel responsible. I don't know if I can face Arthur"
Viola placed a hand on his shoulder
"Nothing that happened to Mr Weasley was your fault. In fact, you probably saved his life"
"I felt like I was attacking hi-"
"But you weren't" Viola cut him off sternly "I know the Weasleys want you there, they think of you as their son. My parents want you there, Sirius wants you there, Ron and Hermione want you there"
"And you want me there?" Harry asked smirking
Viola rolled her eyes "don't push your luck Potter"
She walked off infront as Harry shook his head laughing.
"Finally, we're here" she said standing at the edge of a smaller cliff.
"What-?!" Harry started as Viola took off her coat and started taking off the rest of her clothes leaving her in only her bikini.
Harry only stared in somewhat shock and disbelief as the girl stood before him in only a bikini in the snow.
He was about to ask what the hell she was doing before Viola took off in a run, jumping off the end off the cliff and diving into the sea below. Harry just gaped down after her watching her re-emerge from the waves throwing her head back to remove her hair that covered her face.
"Come on!" She shouted from below
"Are you fucking insane?"
"A little bit!"
Harry only peered over the edge apprehensively
"Come on! I thought you were supposed to be brave" she hollered
At that Harry took off his coat followed by the rest of his clothes and took a leap of faith.
Seconds later he broke the surface of the water, gasping for air due to the shock of the cold water in his skin. He spluttered a little bit and Viola had to hold him steady by his shoulders as he regained his breathing. His hair soaked and stuck down he shook his head spraying Viola with saltwater as he did so. His notoriously messy hair sticking up every which way.
"Why the fuck do you do this?" Harry gasped
"It's fun" she shrugged swimming nearer him
"Fun? It's bloody mad"
"Come on Potter, live a little" she laughed at his exasperated face " But we should get out now" Viola said tearing her eyes away from Harry "if we don't get out now we'll freeze in a few minutes"
The pair Swam over to the beach and climbed out and back up to the cliff to retrieve their clothes. They both slipped their coats back on with their shoes and socks as they walked back to the cottage with their clothes in their arms. They walked in silence comfortably, each glancing at one another when the other wasn't looking.
"Thank you for this Vio" Harry started suddenly
"Vio?" She asked looking up at him
"Sorry I didn't mea-"
"It's fine, I like it. No ones ever called me that before. And you're welcome, but don't think I've gone soft Potter. You've just had a free pass lately. Plus I don't want to be arguing at home. It's sort of my safe place you know?"
"I understand why. It's great here" Harry said walking back into the house as Viola smiled slightly.
