the young woman jumped to the apartment door immediately, confusing her brother.
"the FOOD", two voices suddenly screamed. the brunette was irritated. what was his boss doing here? plus, it was sunday.
before the man could even react, y/n and hu tao began eating their stuff on the couch, an episode the promised neverland on the big tv screen. their voices sounded high in joy and enlightenment.
in the end he didn't question it.
"hu tao lauban, welcome", zhongli instead greeted the woman, earning a greeting, too, "i actually have to go now and i didn't expect your visit so i haven't prepared tea." hu tau giggled: "nah, nah, zhongli, it's fine."
after zhongli left, the women proceeded with their beloved food and anime, trash-talked about that new reality show everybody else was watching, till eleven pm, aka hu tao had to go home.
"man i hate sundays", y/n whined while cleaning up the place. hu tao sat on top of the kitchen island, kicking her legs.
"it surely is annoying; i have work in a few hours and it bugs me to death sometimes", the brunette groaned and jumped down on the floor again.
"i'll be going now, you keep cleaning, i know the way", hu tao grinned at her new friend and y/n just blinked in confusion - her brother taught her manners and escorting your guest to your front door was one of those so she felt a little unease. but it was just hu tao, it would be fine.
"oh, uhm, sure. see ya", y/n smiled and they quickly exchanged hugs and hu tao also bid her goodbye's.
the moment the women stepped out of zhongli's and y/n's (and kind of ajax') apartment, a pair of amber eyes stared at her small statue. she slowly closed the door behind her, leaning against it and crossing her arms: "oh, who do we have here?" xiao slightly squinted his eyes at the tone her voice brought to his ears, also despising the look her face buried.
"that's none of your business", he said with a low tone, a hand on the strap of his sling bag. he had questions regarding the person in front him; why was she in their apartment? i've never seen her before. why did no-one accompany her to the door? is y/n fine? are they friends, maybe? but i usually keep track of who she hangs out, for emergencies, mostly. this is weird?
"you're xiao, am i right?" the ravenette was good at hiding their surprised reaction and kept staring at her with no interest whatsoever.
"are you a friend of y/n?", he instead asked while unconsciously shifting his body weight onto his right leg.
what a pretty boy, hu tao thought and decided to mess with him on an instant. oh, the drama. "what are you talking about? a friend, you ask?", an evil smile plastered her cherry lips and send a shiver down xiao's back, "i'm her girlfriend. man, and she told me you two were best friends? you clearly don't know shit about her life then." a laugh escaped her mouth when he finally showed a reaction to her words; pure surprise and probably anger and sadness in their most beautiful form: jealousy. hu tao was pleased - getting these expressions from pretty faces was worth much to her; just messing with people made her all giddy and hyped up. she made sure to memorize xiao's shocked face before walking past them, leaving the ravenette speechless in the hallway.
