With lingering looks towards the Koalas, she turned around to continue her journey. 'Crickey!' She raised on her voice, and her hand flew to her beating heart when she had turned face to face with Hannah's mother. 'Seb took girls for an early lunch. He has his hands full. Shall we?' Scar nodded slowly before Heiko led the way through the crowds at her pace. Scar's gaze wandered from cage to cage, aware of the woman strolling beside her.

'You don't need to be afraid of me.' Heiko commented casually after the silence between the ladies stretched out. Scar turned her head sharply to meet a pair of amused eyes. 'I wasn't born yesterday, and I would be a fool to assume Seb would spend the rest of his life alone. He's still young, and he truly loved my daughter to the pieces.' A raw agony passed the elderly lady's features, and Scar's heart went out for her. She knew that pain as she had experienced it first hand when she was younger. Scar swallowed the lump in her throat and managed to croak: 'I'm sorry, I forgot...' Heiko took her hand in-between hers and gave them a light squeeze. 'Don't be silly, darling. Hannah is with us every day through her children.' Tears glittered in Heiko's eyes when she softly continued. 'We miss her every day, but we have also learned to move on.'

The stroll continued in quietness, and Scar wondered how far along they had to go before they would reach the others. 'I find this very weird. I'm used to a bit different atmosphere with my former in-laws.' Scar chuckled nervously. 'The whole family... It's overwhelming to me.' She confessed, shooting her eyes to stare at her shoes, being uncharacteristically shy. 'It's okay, dear. I can only imagine what was it like to meet Seb's family. They're tight net. Once you have walked to the lion's nest, the other family member's are a piece of cake.' Heiko joked, and the tightness eased in Scar as Heiko's striking blue eyes swam in warmth and poise.

A giggled slipped past Scar's lips, and she couldn't suppress it in before bursting out, Heiko joining in. They shared amused looks. 'You're right... Meeting the Vettels were nerveracking.' Scar chuckled once they had calmed down from their outburst. Heiko nodded.

'I can tell you two mean the world to each other. Seb ended up in a very dark place last summer, and it was dreadful to see... He shone more light bit by bit until we managed to put two things together.' Scar stiffened of her words, being back again feeling alarmed. 'Not to worry, Seb has shared many great things about you two.' Heiko brushed off her hand, and Scar felt her cheeks burning. 'All good things, like I said before.' Heiko assured her when the rest of the gang appeared in their sight.

Suddenly, Heiko stopped and turned to face Scar with her whole body. 'Shall we give this family day another go?' A flash of insecurity passed Heiko's eyes like she was putting too much pressure on Scar, but Scar shot a kind smile. 'Of course.'

They made the short distance to Seb, and the girls before Seb launched Scar into his arms and hugged her tightly against him. 'You got me worried, Liebe.' He mumbled against her hair. 'Sorry. I got, eh, distracted.' His ocean blue orbs poured into her, and her heart oozed with love. She loved this man. She pressed a lingering kiss to the corner of his mouth. 'Let's not disappoint the girls, shall we? They were soo excited about the baby giraffes moments ago.'

When they parked the car back to Seb's yard, Scar was knackered. In contrast, Emma and Olivia were full of energy when they relived the excitement of seeing their favourite animals. The girls bounced into the house, screaming and chasing after each other, leaving Scar and Seb standing in the front yard with Hannah's parents. 'We'll put the girls to bed before retrieving for the night. Good night.' Heiko said softly, and she placed her hand on Seb's shoulder, shooting a smile towards Scar. 'Good night.' Scar said. 'I won't be seeing you tomorrow. Thank you for today -' She paused how to frame her mixed feelings. '- it was wonderful.' A soft glee played in the elderly woman's eyes when she nodded.
