'Come here.' He extended his hand to help her up from the floor, straight into his arms, his lips founding hers before he slowly rested his forehead against hers, eyes closed, whispering: 'You keep astonishing me every day.' She smirked and lifted her hand to his cheeks, memorising his features, drinking in as many details possible. The butterflies exploded in her stomach at his words, making her glow in love and administration. 'You're not too bad of yourself, mister.' She teased him with a lighter tone. Recently they had swum towards the deeper side of the emotions that she wasn't sure if she was ready to explore yet despite having declared their love to each other. He made her vulnerable, exposed.

Their tender and sweet moment were over after a car hunk carried into the house. Seb sighed and pressed the last kiss to her plumped lips. 'They're here.' Scar giggled and pointed to his shorts. 'You may want to put those on before you step out of the house.' She tapped his chest a couple of times before she continued her way out of the kitchen. He caught with her in seconds, tugging her under his armpit. He graced her with a cheeky wink before murmured. 'Let's get this show on the road, shall we?'

Hannah's parents were a lovely punch. They were polite, easygoing and happy who adored their grandchildren. Scar's heart expanded with emotion when she witnessed their closeness with the girls and with Seb. Seb had greeted them warmly by hugging them tightly, talking enthusiastically in German before turning his attention to her.

'Scarlette, meet Pierre and Heiko.' She moved forward to extend her hand, yet she was closed into a warm hug by Heiko, Hannah's mother. 'It's lovely to meet you. I have heard so much about you from Seb.' Her voice swam in heavy emotion. Scar was moved by their warmth, openness and above all, devotion towards each other, all things she hadn't experienced when she grew up. 'Likewise, Heiko.' She complimented her kindly when she stepped out of the hug, being tugged tightly against Seb. She automatically snuggled closer to him, feeling happy and secure under his strong arms.

Hannah parents' shared a knowing glance. 'Emma and Olivia have spoken nonstop about the zoo trip since they arrived to stay with us.' Pierre mentioned, his eyes shining happily when they guarded the children who were running on the grass. ' Seb and Scar's eye met briefly before Seb turned towards the couple. 'Would you like to join us? The more, the merrier. Right, Scar?' Her eyes widened, and she sharply turned her gaze to him before she turned towards the elderly couple, who were beaming and thanking for the kind invitation. Eh, what?! 'Yeah, the more, the merrier.' She chuckled nervously, forming an uneasy smile to her features. What just happened?

Scar felt out of place when they sat in the car on the way to the zoo. Even though she was able to follow the conversation that was discussed in German, she had very little to say about the topics floating between girls school and their friends. The girls talked cheerfully about the animals they wanted to see. She noticed how Seb's eyes shifted to meet hers via the rearview mirror, shining in delight when they gaze locked. She attempted to give a reassuring smile when her body was fighting to run away. She wasn't good with in-laws, hers or others.

'Someone else is also excited about the zoo.' Seb tantalised once they had piled out from the car. Scar shot a nervous smile and laughed. 'Of course, love. I just couldn't wait to see the baby animals that the girls mentioned during the car ride.' Seb rolled his eyes to her sarcastic comment, kissed her cheek and murmured softly. 'You have no idea how much this means to me, though. For that, thank you.' Before letting go of her and scooping Olivia onto his shoulders, leaving Scar to recover from his practical and needed confession to make her feel a tad at ease. 'Who's ready for safari?' Excited screams filled the air when the group made their way to the entrance.

The sun was blazing down her neck when they strolled through to see different animals, the girls screaming and sprinting around. When Scar saw Seb with his kids, he looked years younger, relaxed and content. He loved his family unconditionally. Scar walked a few steps behind the girls, Hannah's parents and Seb. She hadn't figured out how she fitted into the equation just yet. She stopped to admire Koalas across the fence, chilling on a branch, eating away. A soft smile curved her lips up when she admired their grey, smooth fur. 'Aren't you a lucky one?' She commented, her eyes lingering on the beautiful yet, so adorable creature.
