46. The Big Truth Moment.

Start from the beginning

He held my arm tightly as we ran towards a building. Suddenly I heard a shout from somewhere as the guy beside me snapped back at once, turning me too because of his tight grip.

A guy stood there as he sneered at the both of us. Before I could understand, the guy pulled out a gun out of nowhere as he shot towards us.

The guy holding me let out a cry as he yanked me away, but a bit too late. I let out a sharp scream as pain shot through my entire body. I looked down as I noticed blood oozing out of my left leg as I groaned in pain.

The guy behind us shot towards him, but he was fast to run away, not a single bullet touching him.

I collapsed on ground as the guy looked at me with horror and worry. He settled his head on his lap as he shouted for someone.

"Tout est de ma faute. Dieu je savais que cela arriverait! pourquoi ne pouvez-vous pas écouter pour une fois?" ( It's all my fault. God I knew this would happen! Why can't you just listen for once?) He kept rambling as I again groaned because of the pain.

"Hey dude, I don't get a single word you are getting but chill the fuck out. I am the one shot not you!" I chuckled weakly as he glared at me.

"That is what makes this even worse you asshole!" He hissed at me as I winced in pain, pressing my leg tightly.

Suddenly I felt someone lift my body and make me lie down on a stretcher. They rushed me inside a building as the guy from before stayed close to me.

I felt the bright lights surround me as a masked doctor approached me and examined my wound. He brought out the materials as he instructed something to the nurse beside him.

The nurse handed me a cup of water and a pill as I quietly swallowed it. I hissed in pain as he pressed the gauze against my wound.

"There you go young man! It was just a slight graze so absolutely nothing to worry about. I have done everything necessary. Just come here every week for changing the bandage. It will be fine in no time!" He spoke in a kind voice as he patted my back.

A person approached me as he asked me in a grim voice, "You Aiden Blake?"

Fuck, these people knew my name too.

I nodded as he silently asked me to follow him. I looked around as I saw several closed rooms. We walked towards an elevator as he motioned me to go inside.

He pressed a button as he remain standing outside. The doors whirred close as I stared at the doors in anticipation.

The elevator finally stopped as the doors opened. I gawked in astonishment, looking at the huge room in front of me.

A set of sofas were settled in a corner with a coffee table in front of it. A fire was crackling just in front of it with a mantlepiece above it.

On hearing the elevator sounds, four people stood up as they turned around to face me. They still had their masks on as they stared at me.

"Sit here." One of them said in a heavy, muffled voice as I settled down on the sofa, instantly relishing it's soft touch.

"So..." One of them trailed along as I gulped nervously.

"Hungry?" He asked as I let out a choke sound.

"That's your first question?" I blurted out as I slapped a hand on my mouth instantly. I imagined him to pull out a gun and shoot me down instantly but instead he did something unexpected.

He laughed at me.

Rude but a great relief though.

"Can I ask something?" I asked hesitatingly. The guy laughing before stopped as he looked at the guy beside him, silently asking for permission. He said nothing, just quietly nodded as his eyes remained fixated on me.
